USPS Priority shipping got this beauty to me in 2 days...I picked it up at 1:30 pm, got home and unboxed the case and opened it up: there was the 12 string I have spent 30 years waiting for: 1975 1253-1 Deacon. Condition is pristine: one small mark on edge below the controls and one semi-circle mark (very small) under the neck plate...That's it! The guitar is gorgeous and I can't wait to play it tonight. I polished it and got outside for some pictures. They are here:

Music\'s Deacon 12

Enjoy and I will have a full report later tonight or in the morning.

See you at the Jam...

A sunburst Ovation headstock is a truly beautiful thing. Especially with 12 tuners.
Congratulations.

True beauty. Very few companies can compete with an Ovation burst.

Actually I have met both of these fellows and IMHO I'm in great company with either...

I have just spent three hours (my how time flies when you're having fun...) playing what is without question the finest electric 12 string guitar in my life...really! It tuned right up, and boy does it sound incredible...I had read that the controls might be difficult to get used to...not at all...the Pups sound wonderful: and can go from mellow bassey vibe to biting treble; out of phase HB to a bright tele like lead; all with no huge learning curve at all...The tonal possibilities are seemingly without end. But, the neck is TDF! To say that the guitar plays like butta is an understatement: it plays and frets effortlessly! The neck is wide and flat and feels great in my left hand...I literally could not put it down! This guitar is as mint as a 33 year old guitar can be...It was well worth the wait (abet a long wait) to be able to own a time capsule like this...they certainly do not make them like this anymore...this is a true classic and I am so fortunate to own it! I will have it at the jam for sure...The Deacon 12 is simply put: AWESOME!

Mikey, somebody either on this board, or Jerome's, posted a great instruction manual for your guitar (I've got a Preacher 12, kinda wish it was a Deacon 12). If you can't find it, shoot me a fax number and I'll send you a copy.

Paul, if its this one on Jerome's site: Deacon 12 Manual , I have it; if not, I'd be happy to get it from you...since i have only one line, I have to be here when a fax is sent to start it...

Thanks Paul!
