I just ordered a Legend LX from Al. While browsing his website, I found the exact guitar that I've been thinking about getting for about a month so I decided to go for it. I'm looking forward to geting the new addition to the family. Hopefully I can use it on my gig this weekend!

I'm probably going to keep both of my Martins, but I don't think that I will be using them live as much. I'll probably use the two Legends for gigs, since that's what they're built for.

I may have the LX tomorrow, so maybe I'll even use it out tomorrow night.

You'll have to take the LX out for a test drive when I see you.

BTW. I thought that you were at the Thirsty Moose on Friday (according to your website).

Paul:

It is a Legend LX in the burgundy finish. It's a demo that Al had with a small ding in it. It was too good of a deal to pass up. I don't worry too much about dings because I use all of my guitars out, so they all get some dings sooner or later.

John

I bought my LX 1777 Burgandy back in Feb. This was before all the LX hoopla. I actually ordered this model because of the color and mid-depth bowl. No knowledge of what the hell LX meant. Wow, did I hit pay dirt with this beauty. I play this guitar more than ever. One thing I would recommend though, and it may be a matter of taste, I put new Elixir nanos on it and it beamed.
Good luck with it.

If anyone hasn't seen the transparent burgundy finish - check it out. Unique, unlike a lot of the colored finishes, you see the grain. I got a 1777 LX from Al with the transparent burgundy finish for one of my facilitators - he's buying it, just "carrying paper" at no interest for him for a couple of months. Of course, I played it for a couple of hours before I called to tell him it had arrived. :D Good thing since once he knew it was here, he came right over.

Tommy, Elixer nano-web strings on a Legend LX makes a great combination! ;)

Did I hear Sr. Moment?

I resemble that.

Al, the W597 T is the "bomb" with the 18 yr. old.
I'm glad I pulled the trigger. I guess it's going off to school in Sept. Not enough talk about that guitar. The textured top... Wow.

As for the LX... The 1778LX kicks the ass of the other 3 (IMHO)

The Legend LX is a fantastic guitar and is equal to or better than my Martin. I too got the burgundy version last month and it plays excellent. I also was considering getting the Custom Legend USA model as it is an excellent guitar and I love the patriotic paint scheme. It would be great for playing out and I have done some military gigs. However, when I contacted the factory and they gave me an MSRP of $3,299 (and even with a dealer discount) it's outta my price range. Go Legend LX! Play on!

I'm glad to hear all the good reviews for the LX's. I'm still going to wait for the deep bowl. I want a new guitar with all that comes with it, but with the sound of my 68 Deluxe Balladeer (which Goober described as a mid 50's D-18 -- but I believe it's better because of the clarity).

Well. my LX just arrived and it is one beautiful guitar. I tried it out a little (as much as I can at work) and the action is perfect. I noticed the weight difference right away compared to my other O's. I have yet to find the ding in the top so it must be pretty minor. I can't wait to dig in to this guitar! Thank you AL!
