I'd read the books before I saw the movies and I thought that Connery came up with exactly what was needed for the films, but this wasn't the Bond I knew from the books. My personaly favorite is Dalton as his take on the character was closer to what Fleming had written. However, I hear the new guy takes it in this direction although I've yet to see the film. I also think Moore takes an unfair hit because he took over the role at a time when the scripts became mors cartoonish and lame; he did an outstanding job with the task and material he was given. Other outstanding acting jobs: Michael Keaton as Batman, and Chris Reeve as Clark Kent, a much more difficult character to pull off than Superman.

I was enormously impressed with his style in Casino royale and very much liked his interpretation of the newly appointed 'double-0'. It was interesting to see his move to the dark before the more light and ironic humor of 'later' stories that preceded this first outing for Bond. Very much looking forward to his next outing.

Sean Connery - not best because he's best, best because he's first...and he's Sean Connery. Timothy Dalton- Dark, psycho, twisted. just like that sort of person would be. Daniel Craig-Honors for reinventing the role. blending dark/psycho with tendencies toward good and being the most physical Bond ever. Pierce Brosnan- Reminton Steele adapted to movies. George Lazenby - The dumbest man in the world. Roger Moore - worse than the dumbest man in the world.
