I have some money in the bank earmarked for a new guitar. it will be an O and of course there are no new ones to be had. Not really into Adamas. Looking for Elite style with the shotgun soundholes. Only caveat is it has to be a guitar that will be the envy of all who see it. Money is almost no object if I find one that wows me. Bling not necessary but not being excluded either. What ya got?

I would look for a Nakao Elite, a 1537 or 1547, a 30th Anniversary Elite or a 1768 EMSX. If you're more of a plug in guy, then I would look for a 1984 Collectors. Or maybe for one of those new Adamas wood tops?

I myself don't care too much about the new bracings, so no 2007 Collectors and so on from my side. But others would prefer these.

Good luck,
Kurt

I think I've found the one I want. I got a reply about a 1983 1537. My first son was born in 1983 and will inherit my guitars probably too soon for my liking with recent events.

Meh... I'm not even a little bit envious.

Nothing wrong with a 1537. Sorry to hear that "recent events" may be hastening your crossing that river from which no man returns (and only a few women). That being said hoping you enjoy whatever guitar you get and wishing you nothing but the best!! Good to see you on here again!! Been a while.

First, there can be several reasons that a guitar made for the distributor in Japan was not shipped - cancellation of part of the order or it did not pass the strict quality control for the Japanese market. Even if it has the medallion on the back. Four of the Lennon Legend Ltd 1651-7 that were later sold as FRG's were not shipped (mine was a demo, not an FRG). Yet, I didn't hear of any complaints by the four buyers.

If I remember correctly, my 2001 Collectors was not shipped due a tiny imperfection in the finish next to the bridge. To be honest, hard to find. In this listing, it may be the scratch on the bowl or something else. My recommendation is that if anyone is considering, ask a lot of questions and get detailed photos. Appears to be in Salinas (CA) so if someone wants to check it out in the dry Central Valley, might be a good idea.

here is the text of the reply I just had to send the owner of a beautiful 1537:

I am actually sick to my stomach over a recent happening. My second son needed a last minute surgery a few days ago and he had to ask me for 5 grand to pay his bill at the day surgery center so he could have it. Now all I have left is money for 4 new tires my F250 Powerstroke truck needs so my recently retired wife and I can get busy travelling. I was ready to pop you the money for this guitar, it's gorgeous. I retired from my sign company of 40 years but am getting into making repro antique hand painted signs. Soon as it's up and running and I have the money I'm hoping you'll still have this guitar!!!!!

I'm so let down. But on a brighter note the ER doc who told me last week I could have a serious stroke any second was a quack. I had a full body workup done and at age 62 my carotid arteries are like a 20 year olds. Brain mri was normal. Heart echo showed a perfect functioning heart as well. I actually might have to live long enough to be a very old man. My 5 year battle with chronic pain spontaneously resolved too and I battled off the pain meds recently. Life is clear, good and fun again. And yes Renee, I'm like a new man. Hell, you might actually like me now.

You sir are a fortunate man. What is the orange burst from the right with the stacked holes? She's gorgeous!!! I'd consider selling my Powerstroke diesel to be able to buy one like that but I'd be stuck home with my wife forever!
