I assume the woven tops are the stereotypical grey a la 2080 or W597. But how do they do different colors (like cobalt) of the wovens? And what about the textured tops? Seems like all the ones I saw on the tour last year already had a burst on them. Thanks!

Seems like it's more of a slate/carbon/charcoal color than, say, the 08 Collector's which appears to be painted black. Just curioius. Thanks!

I got that from John Budny. I also have the paint. Someday I will put the paint and the top together and make something.

I could have sworn the woven cobalt top I've seen (TDeej's W598) the blue was impregnated into the fibre somehow so you could still see the pattern.

We used carbon fiber sparingly to reinforce certain stress points. Carbon fiber is blackish. Comes on a roll. After you lay it out and and ad the resins and it hardens it looks like this: ![]()

The only way to lose the texture (ala the 597) is to use a thin coat of resin/epoxy to make it smooth.
