I could really use some extra money, especially with the holidays coming up. So I pondered selling my Josh White. I absolutely love the sound, better than any other acoustic I own! However, I am not a professional player by any means, I only play to torture my family. :>) Anyway, I would love the guitar to go to someone who would truly love it and appreciate it, but I hate to part with it. Any advice? Anyone Interested? Anything helps! Thanks, Dan

My first reaction to this is to remind you of you statement; "I absolutely love the sound, better than any other acoustic I own!" I would tell you to sell something else. Especially if you are gonna miss this one! But I don't know which one I would sell. (What IS a 98 LaPatrie Custom?) [I have a similar problem, I have sold all my crappy imports, the ones that I have I wanna keep. I try to do 1-in/1-out. And I just bought an Oscar Schmidt OE30, about 10 minutes ago! ] Best of Luck with this... Someone here may wanna take it off your hands. Pics would help... I tried to sell the Seagull for $400.00 with hardshell case and fishman pickup. (paid $800. for guitar, $50. for case and $100. for pickup. Not one buyer. My LaPatrie custom was purchased new, and I had it built for me with a custom (now split)top. (which was used as a step stool a week after I got it home by my then 4 year old.) The Garrison was a bottom of the line model (Before Alex Lifeson started playing them) it was cheap and I can't even get $100.00 for it. I could try to sell my Ovation LX, but it was my 40th B-day present from my wife, and she looked sad when I suggested it. The Godin is the only Electric I have. As for the pictures, I have been trying to load pics for weeks now, I keep getting a 'server object error'. I can't even create an album. Anyone who wants pictures can email me, and I'll send them to you. Derwin74@hotmail.com The dilema thickens........Hopefully so do the replies!! You all have been great! Thank you!

Then you can right-click on you photo and "copy image location" and put it here with the Full Reply Page, or the New Post page by clicking the "image" box. Then we can all tell you why you shouldn't sell it. [while secretly lusting]

If I had $750.00, and a tank of gas (got GAS already!); I'd be on your doorstep, waving it under your nose. The Godin can probably be replaced, too. The JW certainly cannot.

Maybe $1,000 means more to me than to others.

I was referring to the fact that there is a difference between the Ovation Guitar Enthusiast, and those people who might recognize a collectible, and those who appreciate and cherish the collectible. (ie: the comic book collector who owns.......Fantastic Four because it is worth money but has never read the book. and the Comic collector who actually reads the Fantastic Four Series.) For those who care, Yes I am a comic geek as well.
