Hizz,
That's a cool ad! The Photo alone would be a great keepsake. Maybe someone from the board should buy this one. I wonder if Bill has a copy of that for himself. again , it would be a neat keepsake. I don't know whether or not he really cares about that sort of thing. But it's way Cool!
Thanks for sharing!

Speaking of old Ovation ads... Does anyone have the ad for the 1992 or 1993 Collectors edition ad?

I was looking at this ad last night in an old Guitar Player Magazine. (Was the first Ovation guitar I ever tried out as well). I also always enjoyed seeing the series of quite garish boots worn in these adds over the years too.

Looking through old Guitar Player issues from 92 and 93, the Collectors only seem to appear in the grainy B&W adds with Richie Sambora, Kirk Pingiley noodling on them near the water rather than specific "Collectors" ads where you can actually see the guitar and get a speil on it.

I bought a 1983 Collectors Series O on the strength of that add. It was the first 'super shallow bowl' I saw (it may have been the first one offered - not sure). I got it at Mandolin Bros on Staten Island along with a 12 string Pacemaker at the same time. They still sound and play great. And yes, in 1983 I was single :p

FYI,
I emailed the seller about W-2 being in the ad and a little history about Ovations. Just thought they'd like to know. I still find the ad Rather interesting.
the seller may have already known the info and I hope they took it well as I was only trying to be helpful.

I have learned that Plagarism saves time. Rather than a page out of a pulp magazine stuck in a $13.99 frame - is there a source for downloading any of these ads? If there were a collection of scanned images on a CD I would love to get a hold of it!

For the price of a CD in the OFC store today I would gladly pay you back on T-u-u-uesday (PayPal accepted)!

I can scan and copy. I can copy and scan. Any interest in such a Project?

This seller has had many of these pictures on over the last few months and it almost always brings good money. I believe there is a black and white photo from the same shoot (without cwk2) in the Walter Carter Ovation book, page 95.

My wife and I have tickets to see Heart here in the Detroit area in August and I am REALLY looking forward to it...never seen them before!

This seller does indeed sellthese from time to time. I bought one a few months ago. Very happy with it. I got it for the opening bid price. Being a big fan of Nancys (and of course her sister), and also owning one of those guitars, I just felt like I had to have it.
By the way, if you haven't seen them live (I haven't either), get the DVD "Alive in Seattle". It's a recording (video) of a concert there in 2002. Only way I can descride it is INCREDIBLE !

Hello All,

I just thought you would like to know that I'll be spending the evening with Ann and Nancy tomorrow. Ann is looking lots better since she has thinned out again, and yes, Nancy is still very lovely. Let me know if you need pictures! Eat your "heart" out!!

I would love to have pictures (autograghed?). Ann is my favorite singer on this here sphere. I get chills just thinking about her singing. Never really cared what she looked like, I could listen to her voice forever. And Nancy's is pretty good , too. Do they need a bass player, lol?

beatlejuice, I have had both the CD and the DVD for many months, but thanks for the tip!!!! I think Mike Inez still has the bass job locked up!

Glenn, I am jealous(green)!!!!! Please tell them that when they get to Detroit(DTE Energy Theatre) that the crazy person in the 43rd row right down the middle is ME, and he's a huge fan!!!!!

If you can get pictures, it would be wonderful!!! :) :) :)

That wasn't me, it was a stunt double that stood in and wore my boots.

Hizz, I'll answer your other question directly but not here.
