I am assuming this is an adamas as opposed to the 1537?

Color is bad but sound and talent are great.

It's one of the 2 1537 prototypes. Bill has the other one.

Jason, on looking at the clip again, I don't think it is one of the two prototypes. Glen got the prototype somewhere around 1982. He used it until about 1986 and then started using another Elite that was vitually identical except it had the standard Elite fretboard markers (it could have been the prototype with a new fretboard -- I don't know).

The original two prototypes had fretboard markers based on a necklace owned by Bill's wife.

Jason, you should remember it --- Bill brought the guitar to the party in New Jersey in September.

Is this the guitar being played acoustically or is it plugged in somehow. Great advertisement for the 1537, even coming through just the computer speakers. Or maybe Glen's talent has something to do with that!

The one thing I noticed is that it has the rounded bridge corners of the Adamas, so I don't think it's a standard production 1537. I'm not even sure this is a deep bowl on this videoclip.
Remember that SSB 1537 prototype that was talked about here sometime ago? It sort of reminded me of that.

It's a deep bowl. The prototypes had an Adamas II's bridge. And it's being played acoustically.

That's a good question, but not sure there's a definitive answer to it. Interestingly, I'd say his siginature models would NOT be among his more prized guitars. For the most part, Glen only used his siginature six-string and 12-string during the run of his Goodtime Hour TV series (1969-1972). Since the mid-70s, he's favored the multi-soundhole Adamas and Elite style models.

He has a mid-80s Custom Legend that seems to be a favorite of his. I've never seen him use it on stage, but anytime he's interviewed at his home, it's right there on his knee or prominently displayed in the background. His favorite stage Ovation for the better part of ten years now has been a natural finish Viper.

Probably the one with the dings and coffee stains. The Love Of His Life, that he don't take on the road... Cuz he's 'fraid it'll get dings or coffee stains on it.

If I had to guess what Glen liked best, I'd say it was the Elite guitars. He played his prototype from '82 to '87, then the 87 C until the mid 90's. Then he went to the Viper, which is a good stage guitar for him.

and for the real trivia buffs this was an appearance on the "Wogan" TV show on BBC One, circa early 1980's.
