And he carried it while slogging through the jungle. And get this... There is a premonition that Charlie steps on a trip wire and takes an arrow in the neck. However... Desmond, knowing what might happen, pushes Charlie aside at the last second. Soooo... instead of Charlie taking an arrow to the neck... THE OVATION TAKES THE ARROW THROUGH THE NECK!!! For the rest of the show they show a broadhead stuck completley through the neck at the "G" position. I can't believe I'm the only one here who watches LOST.

More like the cherry burst or amber/tear drop. I did notice that: 1. he was carrying it in the rain. Only an Ovation could have withstood that. 2. For being a musician (his occupation) and only having one musical instrument, he didn't seem to upset that he had an arrow sticking thru the neck of his guitar and a broken string. 3. He didn't have XLR output. Maybe he was just relieved that he didn't take one in the neck (his own).

I recently watched the episode where Desmond 'flashbacks' to London and sees Charlie busking, but he's playing a wood box. My TV isn't good enough to tell what was written on the headstock. I hate Lost. I haven't missed an episode. Nothing really happens for a whole hour, then something happens that leaves you on a cliff edge and you HAVE to tune in next week. Then you watch another hour of nothing happening until the last 5 minutes...... I hate Lost. I want my life back. :( But Kate IS cute! And now... I LOVE 'Heroes' too. I'll probably end up hating that too, when I realise how much of my life I'm wasting watching TV. And Niki/Jessica is cute too!

LOST does at times test my patience, but I'm in for the duration. HEROES is awesome. I stand corrected.. in my rush to post I said Balladeer... it is a Legend. Of course Kate is hot... that's a given. Having said that I think I need to sit quiet and meditate a while on why I did not mention that scene myself. Heads up and fair warning--- It's been about a year now so I think it's time I sent out a few pre-Tour Monkey-grams.

I think that if you pick & choose and stay away from the mindless garbage there is entertainment & education on many different levels to be found. LOST has it's soap opera components but it's complicated enough where, to get the most out of it, you need to pay attention. Heroes is the same way. West Wing, bless it's little left wing heart, was a thoughtful, interesting show. Then there is the whole other level with The History Channel and The Discovery Channel. The series "Planet Earth" is fantastic. Then there is also music to be found on PBS and MTV-HD. My cable service (Comcast) has "On Demand" that features a wide variety of concerts. Currently there is a documentary on John Entwistle in the rotation. I'll avoid the mindless shows (IMHO.. Survivor, American Idol, most sitcoms, etc), but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. To bring it back to guitars... there are a million songs out there to play but I'm only willing to spend time with a small handful.

History/Discovery/NGC has some good shows, also Law and Order, Lenny was my favorite character. But most TV today does not interest me. It caters to a younger audience as does most of the advertising, and I understand why. Years ago as I saw my parents begin to turn their attention away from TV, I didn't understand why. Now I know. Ones interests change. What is portrayed as reality still seems to be fantasy to me. The graphics are just much better. I guess I just don't think the reality shows are real and the news media is not always truthful, and politicians are only interested in their agenda and -- well that's enough from me. I do still like guitars!

I find myself recording shows that I used to like to watch and then never watching them.. so I'm actually watching much less TV than I used to. Lost, Jericho, 24 and the one sitcom that I like - How I Met Your Mother.

At my work, Housing Maintenance, I was in an elderly woman's apartment, Painting her kitchen cabinets... She was present. She had a large HDTV, a computer, and a stereo. But while I was there a coupla hours... She READ A BOOK!! No, No... Really, I'm not lying. She was reading a book...The whole time. Oh yeah, she had an old Martin guitar leaning in the corner. I didn't ask her to play me a tune, but in hind-sight, I shoulda.

If I pick up the guitar, he'll wanna play it and there'll be more paint on the guitar than the cupboards. I'll just read a book and keep an eye on him." Or... maybe they're for the grandkids and she doesn't know how to use them! :)
