Error 404. It's always been my favourite error. Sort of like how Catch 22, was always the best. Catch 26 really shows how he'd lost his edge by then.

One of my favorites also. Right up there with "Web Page Has Expired".

I'll have to pay Matt a visit. I've seen his Matt-matic tuning in action before ... if you know what I mean. Too bad Fender doesn't seem to be taking advantage of Matt's talents.

JHS (JohnHornby Skewes) were the Ovation distributors in the UK for many years. They charged way too much for them but they always turned up at trade shows with a bunch of them - which is something Fender didn't do at the last London Music Show - and their customer service (when given a kick up the ass by Mr Budny) were great.
Not surprised they have kept in touch with Matt.
Some of those Fret King guitars are fantastic. IMHO their top of the range tele copies are better than most teles.

Matt could play a Taylor and make it sound good.....

Several of us had breakfast with Matt and he is lovin his new home in Austin. I plan to drop by his studio next time I am out that way....hopefully sometime within the next 6-7 months.

That auto tunin on the FretKing guitars was awesome stuff! Made the Gibson stuff seem like kid's crap by comparison.

bvince - I'm decompressing today but will be posting video and stories on mikesgig.com in the coming weeks and will drop back here from time to time and notify. Ran into Paul Templeman and Woodie a couple times. Sorry I missed GC but shot a lot of great performances and tried a ton of guitars. Later

Even though Mick Thompson, DJ Ashba and Kaki King were all there in support of Ovation (and drew big crowds!), Glen was the featured artist this year.

Yes, that's a blue Viper he's holding. Nice, huh?

Yep - on another guitar topic - had the good fortune to shoot Jackson Browne press conference here. This show was huge with over 90,000 in attendance but less exhibitors.

In a recent interview, Kaki mentions NAMM and Glen Campbell. Here's the excerpt:

Q: So are there any particular guitars or pedals you absolutely can’t live without?

KK: I love my Ovation, I mean I love it. It’s funny because I was just out at NAMM, which is a big music manufacturers convention and Glen Campbell was there for Ovation. He was the first signature guitar guy for them, like let’s wait in a line around the corner to get his autograph kind of guy. It’s funny because people walk into studios in Nashville for example, and pull out Ovations and engineers will complain, but the artists will tell them to calm down and set up their mics and wait to see what happens, and the guitars end up sounding amazing. They travel amazing too! I’m not pimping the company at all, I mean whatever, they know it already. That’s the guitar I have to have to do a show and everything else adds to it.

The entire interview is at:

I thought Josh White was the first Ovation signature player.

True... but Glen brought them into the homes of millions every week.
We can forgive Kaki for not knowing her history. Most of us have guitar pic's older than she is.

I appreciate any kid who does and says things based on thought, not just based on what is popular. Kaki seems to be part of that school, which seems to have very few students. Even if I don't agree with something she says or does, I like the fact that she thinks about it and works hard at it. She reminds me of our daughters in that respect.
You have a reason to be a proud papa, Dave.

We could use a hundred more Kaki's.

We could also use a dose of the Road Show in Nashville. Players rarely get the chance to sample Adami and US O's here.
