Haven't have a chance to try both and would like to ask anybody here who own or used to test them.

Any different?

Which one you like better?

Wondering about the price...please guide.
Look like it's difficult to find 6773 in stores now.
The price should be $1300-$1500 USD, isn't it?

How much does 6773lx cost for brand new one?

Just wanna compare between two models before placing an order.

Thanks

That might be LIST for the 6773 (which may be discontinued or a special order, now that the LX series is out), but actual prices in stores should be much lower; check out Musician's Friend prices on the new LX series, and use that as a base guide; many dealers will go below MF's prices...

I have owned a 6773 and I have demo'd the 6773LX. It's worth paying at least 50% more for the LX version in my opinion.

6773 has VT bracing which pretty much sucks the life out of the sound. Unless you only play plugged in, this would be a deal killer. Also the 6773 has a wider and fatter neck than the LX. Preamp OPPro is also much better on the LX, as is the whole cosmetics but that's a matter of personal choice. The 6773 does have a nicer headstock, but only if you gloss finish it. The stock tuners on the 6773 are pretty cheap. Dave

As ovation website said LX means Louder, richer, lighter and fuller. LX is more interesting !

Anyway, 6773 is look great also. I'm interested in both 6773 + 6773LX but will never ever have a chance to test one since i'm in Bkk now. All i can do now is searching on the internet. :(
This is why I really need a guide from the real tester.

Thank you very much for your useful guide !
Mr.leftovertion and Mr.Dave.

Look like I should go for 6773LX base on Mr.Dave guide.
I personally play unplug 98%. Rarely plug it into amp. Heard that OPPro and OP40 are both great. So I can go either one. BTW, If LX give richer and louder sound, LX is more interesting.

Also 6773lx has a narrower and thiner neck, isn't it? (Mr.Dave's comments) , so this will be great for a string player like me who looking for the first acoustic nylon guitar, which easiest to play. (May be i think in the wrong way).

Don't care about 12th fret to body

- - - - - - - -

Still wondering about the price range.
I checked http://www.musiciansfriend.com
but it doesn't have 6773 or 6773LX in its stock.

I search this forum and found
http://www.ovationfanclub.com/cgi-bin/ubb/non-cgi/ultimatebb.php?ub...
Mr.RobCS said it's $1299 at Guitar Center, FL.

Is this reasonable price to buy?
Any guide about the reasonable price?

Thanks

Quite asking questions. Go with the LX. Better guitar even if the price is higher. The sooner you buy it, the sooner you'll be making music with it.

I posted the price on the 6773LX at the Guitar Center in Winter Park, Florida, but don't buy that one. I think I also posted that the neck wasn't aligned to the sound hole on that particular guitar, and you wouldn't want to wait as long as you're going to for a defective guitar. Wherever your brother buys it, make sure that he, or someone who's knowledgeable about guitars, tests it out thoroughly before transporting it to you.

Tell your brother to call Al. Lost Art/Vintage Instruments on the left side of the page. No worries, he just gets great guitars.

Wow, it's hard to believe that LX's have been on the market for two years and they still haven't come out with a lefty. In fact, I just now realized that they're all cutaways!

Given the low availability of left-handed guitars, do most lefties force themselves to learn to play right-handed? Or do you flip the nut and restring non-cutaways? Or do you just settle for the best lefty guitar you can find?

I am strongly left handed. I've always picked up the guitar right handed. It just always made good sense to have my strong hand on the fingerboard. I think most leftys were given bad information when they first started.

funny you should mention that.. I'm still learning, but I've often felt like I would have better chord forms and be able to hold barre chords better if I could use my right hand on the fretboard. (I'm a righty.) I just figured that feeling would go away as I build strength with left hand. My instructor is right-handed but plays lefty. Seems like a one-way street.. once you start down one path, you're committed. To try and change direction, you'd have to throw everything you know out the window (at least in terms of muscle-memory.)

Sorry to hijaack the thread (which seems to have been asked & answered). Buy the LX unless you're a lefty! Wouldn't you rather have an '04 Balladeer LX??? ;)

I'm also left handed and start to play guitar with right.
Same idea with Mr.Moody.

moody, p.i.;

The only problem with your argument is that it implies that all right handed guitarist should be playing LEFT-HANDED GUITARS.

I golf and bat right-handed; I catch and throw, write and eat left-handed...the first time I picked up a guitar, it felt 'natural' left-handed and weird right-handed...

...life would have been much easier had I learned right-handed...but that felt very unnatural, and there was no one who tried to switch me over (I pretty much started on my own).

I am left handed and play a right handed guitar. I agree that the left "strong" hand on the fingerboard makes the most sense. You righties have been under a handycap for a long time. Be liberated and buy a left handed guitar.

I noticed the other day that Doyle Bramhall II plays a left-handed guitar left-handed but it's strung right-handed.
