It is a 1968 Artist model, with a unique bridge style. They rate it's condition as excellent, and the picture supports that. According to the add, it is one of the first textured bowl models. Price was not given (it asks that you e-mail for price). I just thought I would post this in case one of my brother Ovation fans might be in the market for a collector. Book 'em Dano Still would like to know what year this model was made by Mr. Campbells' mom, and how many she crank'd out before they got wind of it. Thanks Paul, Miles, and Al for the info at the NAMM show. Don't drink the water . web pageOvation1127-4 M-293 [ July 21, 2002: Message edited by: Gizz ]

I was and still am as freaked as you are about it. Poor ol' mom in there sweating her lil' old brains out, with no air/condition and no lunch breaks back to back shifts, and on weekends too. Shame on Glen, didn't he know that mom is supposed to drive the tour bus? Well, it seems I have one of those (M) signature Ovations. I'm sorry now, poor Ma  web pageGCampbell sign_M(mom)-293_1127-4

Well, here goes: http://www.marsmusic.com/store/process_search_results.jhtml;jsessionid=KOEQV4QKPAWA2CQDBZISFEY?cat=&_D%3Acat=+&search_text=ovation&_D%3Asearch_text=+&_D%3Aok=+&ok=Go&_D%3Aok= +&dept id=4&SHOW_IMAGES=true&_DARGS=%2Fcomponents%2Fleft_side%2Fblue_search.jhtml O.k., that worked well. I guess the best way to view it, is to go to marsmusic.com go to guitars, and do a search for "ovation" You will find it toward the bottom of the page. Good luck! Wish I was better at doing this. Norse(internet idiot, but good hearted)man1 HEY IT WORKED! Miracles never cease! Bad news is, it looks like the picture is not as clear as I remembered. The seller set the resereve price at 2000.00 According to the seller, it was a Legend model 1767 made in 1987. Beautiful guitar, and I was the high bidder at 305.00. Am I missing something (other than a few marbles I already know about) or was this guitar vastly over-priced. It did not say Custom Legend, nor did it seem to have the ornate look of a custom Legend. Any ideas? Norse(would have loved to owned it!)man1

If you can afford it and want it... well, your wife will kill you. The guitar on Mars Music must be a Glen Campbell Artist. Those bridges were made around 1969-1970 (they show up in a 1970 catalog). At the time of those bridges, the Legend had fewer markers on the neck than did the GC Artist.

It has the second type of bridge that was used for only a short time before going to the shape we know now. Timm is asking $1000 for this one. There is also a shiney back std bd there too, owned by a semiinfamous person. This one is $1250. Tell Timm Kummer that you're from the OFC, he's a member too, maybe that will get you something off, you never know.

Could it be that or something poor ol' Ma did to P/off the big ka/who/nas when it happen'd. I've heard of things getting black listed, but man - this is an Ovation none the less. Any takers? maybe I'll keep it a bit longer cause its a good puppy

Do I have that right, Bill?

Maybe member #411 TJR (who I now envy) may be able to shed some light on it thru his dad and his unique job as a maker of these fine Ovation gitboxs' or as I call mine, Puppy. I am Curious Yellow (old 70's movie) that I can't see straight just waiting to know about it. Now Glen has poor Ol' Ma driving in those cold nights back and forth to sign 'em, instead of putting 'em in the mail. Poor ol' ma -------------- web pageOvation 1127-4 M-293 signed in Red

I can see mom driving a big ol' Pink Caddy rag top down the road. You GO Girl! Then Back to the sweat shop ...Poor Ma !

How old was she when she sweated it out in the manufacturing den? Did it have air-conditioning? Was she allowed 10-minute breaks in the morning and afternoon? Did she have a decent lunch? (No, a tuna salad with limpy lettuce leaves and stale crackers does not a decent lunch constitute.) How did Ovation/Kaman escape federal scrutiny or labor charges? We in the Fan Club should be so grateful for her untiring contributions to Ovation's history and success!

Lunch was always something different bought from the donut man Joe who came around each morning. Some times tuna (but it was fresh) sometimes polish sausage, sometimes roast or corned beef, sometimes livermush. The other employees didn't like it whe she was there because she'd work circles around them!
