I'm saying that because the person who lives next door to me just baught a "d'aquisto" not sure about the spelling sorry. Anyway, he paid something like 3000 or 4000 for it. I have tried it on two occasions, and i have to say, wow, that's one of the best guitar i have ever played. But i felt that for that price he should have had a guitar build specialy for him, specialy since the difference isn't that big with adamas. Smae type of technology in my opinion. But thanks i will certainly try to find out more on this. Just my luck, the day i'm going to decide to have one built an elite 1868-C is gonna show up on ebay. hahahahahaha!!! Thank you very much for the info. I'm gonna have a nice christmas this year.

In theory, it should just involve finishing the top as though it was going on a different model. I assume this can be done, the question is how expensive would something like this be?

For those of you who understand a contractor's world, during the slow season I would do anything a customer asked for. I'd even go to their house on a Saturday morning and talk about the project over coffee for 2 or 3 hours. But during my busy season you were lucky if I returned your phonecall within a week. I suspect Ovation is in the busiest season they've seen in ages.

Sometimes it's just something that's more trouble than it's worth to them. It IS a factory trying to make a PROFIT, you know? What I have yet to do (for obvious reasons) is offer to significantly overpay for something that "can't" be done. My gut feeling is that at a certain price point even the "no way" contour bowl Classic LX would become a reality ...
