No really news from Ovation (they didn't even show the new Adamas Custom Shop), except they officially presented the new VXT guitar. They had five specimen, three in sunburst and two in black. Matt played it all day long at the Ovation booth and everybody could play it through headphones. It sounded great both through the PA and headphones. To me the acoustic emulation sounded very authentic. Exceptional playability. As it was officially presented (even one of the US Ovation representatives there helped me with the pics) I see no problem to publish these pics here. If this should not be in-line with the board rules please let me know. Karl

Of course the VXT being $1000. cheaper doesn't hurt. I like the slight Nike contour on the back! I can't think of a reason in the world I would need to own one of these, but I'm not the target audience they are going after. 30 years ago I'd be all over it. Now what the NEED to do is get it in the hands of the right endorsees. Dave

They're about to (or already have started) touring, and the ability to A/B between acoustic/electric on some of the (especially EARLY) Genesis tunes'd would fit the niche nicely (and get a HELL of a lot of visibility when they're all OVER the media on the up coming US Summer/Fall Tour . . .

He not only copied the roundback and the small soundholes in the upper bouts but also the quintad bracing of the Adamas guitars. You can find some pics of it on his website. Due to it's rustic look the original Adamas guitars are loved by artists performing the traditional as well as the popular music of the German-speaking alpine region (South Germany, Austria, Switzerland, North Italy). These Bachmann copies are obviously designed for this market. Karl

I was Blown away by this things... through the genz shenendoah and the black pearl it was the beees kneeeeeees!!!

The guitar can either be run mono via the switch on the back, where acoustic and electric signals can be blended in one amp, or the switch on the back can be set to stereo... which allows use of a Y chord, one side to an acoustic amp or PA and the other side to the electric amp... again... the VXT gets my highest endorsement!!! And Brad, aint no note cooler than you!!!

Standard 3 way switch, plus blender, mono plus blending if you want it, then stereo splitting, one channel for acoustic if you want, and another for electric. Nicely done. OK, enough questions from me, all I gotta do now is get one of these into my mitts.
