Looks like a German special edition, but it's not marked that way. Belong to anyone here?

The seller says it could pass for new, but it's hard to tell if the top has any defects from the pics.

How does it look to you guys?

Odd that the label doesn't indicate it's one of those, although that's a good guess. I've had an 1868 ES but it didn't have the offset markers like this one has (looking more like a longneck). My guess is that Glenn is right about the top wood but that it's a custom shop one-off.

and it's a -4 natural, not a -1 sunburst sorry...
my mind always wants to assign the natural tops a 1
for some reason.

The top centre seam seems really visible...almost looks like a crack, in the photos.

That's what I was thinking, but it's hard for me to tell. Also, on the closeup of the bridge, it appears there is a finish scratch or crack. I wonder if the mothership could fix something like that.

It's PROBABLY and finish crack, but the photo is quite dark, which could accentuate the crack. I'm really suprised it isn't mentioned in the ad. I think I'll take the liberty of asking. Still ... it may end up being another one of those nice opportunities for someone to get a very nice guitar at a low price.

SOMEBODY rescue it!

I just received a response from the seller about what appears as a crack in the top. This is his response...

"no. it is a seam in the wood. Guitar is perfect, not a scratch on it, TJ"

... but I don't know why I am commenting on a thread that doesn't exist.

I got distracted so I didn't snag that one.

And I only post about guitars that I ain't trying to buy! (Or after they got too expensive)

But that one do look like a good deal. Now I have "missed-it" remorse.
