First, nobody on this site is gonna talk nice about Behringer... just cuz  Personally, I have a Behringer Vintager AC112, this is not a pure acoustic amp but it has a clean channel and an overdrive channel, with 99 setting for each side. I got it for $150. I can use it for anything that plugs-in. [I wanted a Behringer ACX 1000 but got outbid on it.] Mine has a Tube in it, but all them effects run on silicon. Behringers have alot of effects on them usually, but that ain't necessarily a good thing. I have 198 settings, plus added effects on top of that... I use TWO! The Kustom Sienna 35 has some effect, but I would find something with just a chorus... Or no effects and use a stomp box. That was no help... Good Luck! OH! (CS made me think of this...) I have a Crate Taxi, 15w No Effects. My Ovations sound great through that! They sound just like they do without an amp. Just Louder. And it has an XLR in put for a mic, with no equalizer. 4 Band EQ with the 1/4 inch jack. If you just want to make your guitar heard over traffic noise, that is great. And it runs on a rechargeable snowmobile battery.

Or maybe go with a yamaha self powered PA, I think they may have some in that price range. I guess now I've really confused him.

I grew up hearing my dad play his 12-string Balladeer through an old Twin Reverb Deluxe, and I'll never get over the sound of that baby. Ovation and a Fender tube amp is a good combo in my opinion. Doesn't Roland make a nice small guy for under that price cap?

I have received such good deals from Al over the past few years, including on several Genz amps, that I forget there is another retail market out there. You might check with him off-line and see what he can do for you.
