Hey all,

We had a nice 1547 Elite come in to the shop recently, and this looked like a place that would appreciate such an instrument. If you are interested please contact me through PM or call the shop. Asking price is $1450. Here is a link to a bunch of pics:

The walnut fretboard on a gloss black body with wood binding and knobs is stunning.

After having had the 1537-5, the cutaway on the '47 looks very nice...and very tempting...

The binding...and a two-knobber. Nice.
Is that the original saddle?

Wow! All the sonic glory and serious mojo of a 1537 AND a cutaway, what more could you ask for?

You don't see these very often at all. In black too. Time was this wouldn't have lasted more than a few hours here.

Don't know how often I've said this this past year, but I wish I had the money for this!! Damn!

Oh well, guitars will get you thru times of no money better than money will get you through times of no guitars.

Hey everybody,

Just wanted to add that reasonable offers will of course be considered. She's a beauty!

Still looking for a home! Have a couple Ovations in at the moment including a left-handed Celebrity. They don't touch this one though

Nice model, but with a AAA Spruce top, I was never happy with the idea of slapping layers of black paint to cover it up. It always made me wonder if they did that to cover up a flaw.

I've heard the saying though, that "Once you go black, you'll never go back"

Initially I didn't like black, but after my first one they kinda became addicting.

Now I have loads of 'em all with 3A tops (or carbon fiber). On stage, I think they're quite a bit more stunning with their "slapped on" layers than my natural ones are.

black ones include:
C2078LX
1769 Custom Al DiMeola
2080
1581 Adamas II reissue
Mandolin MM68

And for what it's worth, you can't see the heel caps or headstock veneers on the bursts either, and I wouldn't trade my 1537-1 for nuthin. It's beautiful.

If I had the cash, I'd snag this one for sure. There weren't many of these made. I'm surprised this thing is still available.

There are some really great and rare Ovations up for sale now - this 1547, the LAV Koa, the white UKII, etc.

At least the 97 collectors sold, but it was hard to pass up for the price!

A couple of years ago you had to be quick on the draw to snag something like these beauties, they would often be gone in a matter of hours, or sometimes minutes! Back then I probably would have bought at least one of them by now.

Very sad. I guess it's just a sign of the times.

Too many great guitars and not enough cash! Oh the GAS!!!
