| Hey!
I'm new to this site but not to Ovations. Bought my first (and last) acoustic guitar in Jan 1981--a stereo nutmeg 1651 (I've never seen another like it)--that has served me most wonderfully these past 37 years! But, the preamp is showing its age and has recently been putting out more and more white noise. I'd like to keep the electronics original (i.e., no new pickups or milling out body for newer "drop-in" type preamps) if at ALL possible, so:
- where can I get either an EXACT replacement preamp (part #702000-X "FET Amp w/ Stereo" I believe) or one that will function the same?
- if replacements are unavailable and I need to repair what I have, does anyone have a schematic for this preamp?
- before I assume, is this the correct part #/type of preamp for this guitar? I believe my guitar serial # is 256424, it is a stereo, and I have the 1 concentric volume/tone knob
ANY thoughts, lessons learned, or advice would be greatly appreciated!
