Hi, I'll be honest and say I'm merely here to ask because I was directed here from the general guitar reddit forum after I asked a question on advice for a repair there. I don't think I will stick around long after this is answered as I don't see myself as a brand dedicated person but I do love this guitar and would like to repair it.

As you can see the pseudo rosette pickguard has broken underneath the fretboard where it is held down as well as the abalone layer has shattered in one spot. I got very few responses on the other forum probably due to Ovations usually being of peculiar construction, but someone told me I could just take simple superglue and fasten it back down. I'd personally like more input as I'm rather afraid of it melding the plastic into my guitar haha. Has anyone else repaired a break of this kind before?

Welcome,
Some others may chime in, but this part of the forum is limited to a few of us being able to respond. However, my go to is SIG-Ment. http://www.sigmfg.com/IndexText/SIGSM001.html . It's great for putting binding on a neck, and if you read the description it specifically states for plastic to wood. As I say, there may be other opinions so stick around a little, and if there aren't other recommendations, post back and I'll move this thread into the lutharie area when it's sure to elicit response.
