| Dear Ovation FanClub forum members- It's great to be here! I am a long-time piano player only recently getting more excited about acoustic guitar. I have been playing a very entry-level takamine jasmine for about 2 years and recently tried an Ovation Elite 1778-tx5 (all black) acoustic guitar and absolutely fell in love. It was so much easier to play than the Jasmine and sounded incredible. I have been shopping around for the 1778 but also see that there is a whole world of higher-end Ovations like Elite Standards, Customs, Adamas etc. I wanted to ask your opinions about the 1778 tx-5 as well as other Ovations. As I mentioned my skill level is still low intermediate and I don't think that I am ready for a very high-end Adamas. The 1778 tx-5 seems to be a really great option but I wouldn't want to regret a year down the road that I didn't go for a standard elite or other guitar. Thanks so much for running me through some of the advantages/disadvantages of the 1778 tx series vs the 2078tx, 2078ax, 6068ax, etc. i only want black guitars and could go either all black, or with the beautiful designs. I'm only interested in cutaway and "side holes" rather than the center hole that my jasmine has. I really appreciate your help, thanks!! sincerely- ovation-newb  | |||
