I have a white Breadwinner. The serial number on the neck plate is stamped 081, nothing else. It is a plain neckplate, with no Ovation decoration.

According to the Ovation Serial Numbers, this would make my Breadwinner produced in 1966, but supposedly the Breadwinners were introduced in 1972.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

A few questions...

Is the battery cover plain also?
Is the jack on the end of the body or on the pickguard?
Does it have large pickups (toroidal) or humbuckers like a Preacher?

This will help figure this out. Maybe a link to a picture too?
