Well, today I picked up a very nice ol', made in '76, Custom Balladeer (2nd year if data is correct) that must have some stories to tell. This is the one that I offered to scout for jones0247 in this THREAD .

The eBay ad had only one poor pic with a $150 BIN and no shipping. But it was also on CL with four pics and I loved the aged sunburst (yeah, I'm a PU assy for matured SBs) . Robert (jones0247) never got back with me, so I took a chance and won it.

Mark, the seller, was the original owner and had played in a band(s?) for 'bout 30 years. They withered and went separate ways. That's all the info I got from him. He seemed preoccupied and in a hurry. The delivery point was the Tampa Seminole Hard Rock Cafe/Casino parking lot. I hope that I didn't feed a 'habit'. But he sure did feed one of mine!

There are only two insignificant minor checking areas and a couple of small 'stage/gigging' dimples. No cracks, lifting or abuse. Although the strings are dead, the body is doing its best to breathe life into 'em.

This git has been gig played, but not put away wet nor abused. I'm holding off on stripping her and giving her a 'Rachael' treatment so that I can document the before/after transition (I need to kick my own azz for not doing this in the past!).

BTW, I found a vintage(?) Fender large triangle 'THIN' pick in the body. Maybe I'll learn to do some pickin' yet!

Catch ya'll later!
