Location: SoCal | In the early 80's all the bowls went to a molded configuration (I would guess that one of the reasons is for the neck attachment system for the K-bar).
In about 2005 (?), Ovation started building the lighter microsphere bowl (you can read about it on the Ovation webpage). It's about a half pound lighter than the older bowls. The current ADII's use this and I would guess that the Ute's have them as well.
Although, and I don't know, the Ute's might have a hand laid fiberglass bowl. They are the best. Thinner, lighter, and more expensive to produce. |
