I think one of our more informed members mentioned that the construction of the bowls on legends (and perhaps others) changed in the early 80s? Is there a difference in the current ADII bowls and some of the other legends? IE are they hand laid, lighter etc than the bowls made in the mid 80s on.
The bowl on my UTE is lighter and thinner than my 1767 and I was wondering if the ADII was similar to the UTE or 1767?
Thanks!

In the early 80's all the bowls went to a molded configuration (I would guess that one of the reasons is for the neck attachment system for the K-bar).

In about 2005 (?), Ovation started building the lighter microsphere bowl (you can read about it on the Ovation webpage). It's about a half pound lighter than the older bowls. The current ADII's use this and I would guess that the Ute's have them as well.

Although, and I don't know, the Ute's might have a hand laid fiberglass bowl. They are the best. Thinner, lighter, and more expensive to produce.
