Location: Scotland | On a 21/22 fret guitar such as a Strat the neck pickup sits exactly under the 24th fret harmonic node-point, so if you put Strat pickups on a 24-fret guitar such as a Breadwinner it cannot sound exactly like a Strat as the positions and spacing of the pickups is different. (The Breadwinner is an all-mahogany guitar which will also contibute to the sound difference) That's not to say it wont produce a good-sounding instrument. Breads & Deacons with changed pickups are common, personaly I like the quirkiness of the original pickups and pre-amp. If you want Strat-sounds leave your Breadwinner alone and try a Viper 3. I have a Breadwinner with 2 Viper pickups & a Deacon pickup and it produces some good strat-like sounds.
