Hello everyone. I just got off the phone with a friend who bought a 1987 Ovation Legend. He said it is in good shape, but there are no strings on it. I asked if he knew how long the guitar had no strings on it, but he didn't know. My question is, does it hurt an acoustic guitar to have the strings off for awhile, then to be tuned to standard pitch? From what he said, I think the guitar was stored for at least five years with no strings on it. Should he look for any problems when he restrings it? Thanks....Paul Hebert

He's probably looking at having to have the neck set up.
