The first song on the first album I ever owned as a kid. I had to learn it. And then I had to play it on my baby. And then I had to record it

BTW, I don't know if we're allowed to plug albums here, but since this one's 100% Ovation (Adamas to be exact), I hope it's okay. The album's called "Look Ma, No Band!". It has 6 covers (one from each decade starting with the 60s) and a couple of originals, so hopefully there's something for everyone. (I put it on all the main providers I could think of.) :-)

Pure and sweet, Bravo! Really nice vocal. I also like how the minimalist arrangement pays tribute to the original (guitar for piano!)

Very nice. Great vocal.
(Is it just my imagination, or do you kinda struggle into that F#m7 chord?)

I want to listen to it, but I'm afraid to listen to it.
I pulled this song out of the pile a few months ago to have another swing at it.
I'm afraid after hearing Joe's take it will just go back to the bottom of the pile.
.
And that F#m7 chord is a bitch.

Great job! Nicely sung and played. You really capture the spirit and mood of the song quite well.

The first album I ever bought was Cat Stevens - Tea for the Tillerman and I'm working on the song Father and Son.

Better late then never...

LOL The trick is to play the C# in the bass (if you're talking about the F#m7). If you mean the G#M7 (depending on where you capo), then it's just a matter of getting your thumb comfortable with wrapping around (which is why I love our thin O necks)! No, I don't really feel any struggle with the part, though I do see that I make "struggle" face! LOL (One of those things had no idea until I saw myself on video! In my mind I don't make any faces! LOL)

And thanks, Jimmer! I try to capture the spirit of whatever song I'm covering. I rarely try to do "my version" of covers. I try to do just emulate the song, knowing that my own style will sneak in there whether I mean it to or not.

Great job but I was even more impressed with your version of "Come Together" by the Beatles. Incredible singing, playing, sound effects, etc. I could only dream of doing that as well as you did.

Thanks! "Your Song" wasn't as involved as "Come Together" due to the nature of the song. (The "drum fills" were fun thanks to the brushy sound of the T top). On this one, there was only one drum fill I didn't want to miss (that triplety one after "it's people like you that keep it turned on...", so I incorporated it into the strum (which Marc nicely caught on the video).

Okay... I manned up and watched it.
Very, very well done Joe.
You & your special guitar sound great.
.
I'm glad I did watch it.
The key I had been playing it in is nasty.
I'll start from scratch in Joe's key.
.
again.. well done.

Thanks, Crimson! I'm just learning what the "likes" are for. I thought they were just a "page count" statistic that displays how many FB people like something, but they're actually what FB uses to know who to send the music page's posts and events, which is different from your regular FB page. I get it now.

So thanks for forwarding, since that's how to build an audience on FB :-)
