What do we think of the 1111-4?

The fact that it has a KBar in the neck indicates that it is A braced but I'd ask for a photo of the sides of the sound hole just to confirm the bracing. If it is an A braced Legend, then it's a great deal....

Obviously, the natural -4 finish, being the best of any of the finishes, greatly enhances the woody tone of any Ovation played outdoors. ;) That Legend looks like it's already been 'broken in.' No need to worry about banging it around. If I were looking for a camp fire guitar, I'd be interested in it; especially for less than $300.

She has the neck that I measure all others by, has a wonderful, warm, rich alto-like timbre to her tone. She's middle-aged, like me, and has the blemishes that come with being well-loved over time...and the depth that gives her that rich tone destroys my shoulder...but...she's the one guitar I will NEVER part with. (I just had the funny thought that when my time on earth is over, I'd like Gertrude, Jewel and Jazzey all arranged in stands around where I'm laid out--with Gertrude in the center, the queen flanked by her attendants. Yes, I know...I need to go take my meds now. :D ;) )

Paid 240.00,w case. one samll nick on the back headstock, one small blimish on the top, one hair line finish crack about 2 inch that I didnt see still I got home. $300 for the Legend sounds good. My 1111 holds it own against my Martin but we all know dollar for dollar Ovations are great bang for the buck if not the best bang for buck. I have mever bouth a guitar w/out playing it first but living in Nashville I have never had to look very long to find my next great guitar.
