Ever think you'd see these at this price?

That's cheap. They've recently been listed at $400.

That's the hardcover though, must be limited in numbers.

And to think I've already given away three of the softcovers with a bunch of scribbling in them...

Maybe if you polyurethane the covers, you'll get more for them.

I have one in basically mint condition. Then I got another one that's got some dude's scribbling on the inside ... I'll just have to keep that one for myself since I've heard that ruins the value.

Just yesterday I bought the last one available from the Australian distributor.

I found out a couple of weeks ago from my mate at my local guitar store that Ovation is about to be distributed by another company here, I asked him to see if there were any more books left.

I bought my hardcover version, with that same Dude's scribbling, for something like $15 about five years ago.

I got one with some scribblin too, and the scribbler's guitar to go with it.

AJ, soon you'll be the Aussie disty for Ovation if you keep it up.

I've got a hardcover with that guy's scribling in it and made out to "Preston".

At one time, I had 3 hard cover copies. I kept the one with the scribling and gave away the other two. Damn.....

OK, cool. So I guess we've set the market value at about $18 when we factor in inflation. Good to know. ;) Makes sense to just hold on to it I guess.

Mine has scribbling from Vince Gill.
He said "I would have been playing Ovations for 30 years if I'd been around back then"

That scribbling probably adds to the value.

To be a "disty", he'd have to start selling 'em. I don't think that's what AJ is about. He'a more of a hoarder.

We've already got a 'Trader' Jim. The Aussie is 'Collector' Jim.

Either way, AJ probably has more in stock than the official distributor. Just can't prise any out of his cold dead hands.

Actually, he's more than generous with his collection. Loans them to members all over the USA before he's even played them himself.

Heck, I've had one of his UKII's for nearly a year now. Maybe he's forgotten about it???
