I got a couple pics from the show. It was rather dark, so I did the best I could with no flash (not allowed). The last pic is my AL DiMeola Custom Legend I asked him to sign for me.

Cool pics. You got kinda an Eric Clapton look going there with the glasses and parted hair.

Nice! That's a way big sig you got there on the back! I can't tell how closely it matches the one on the TRC. Are you still going to be able to play the guitar without the ink coming off? Good pictures, as always.

Ha DB! Maybe if I lost 120 lbs or so there might be a resemblance of some sort.

Bobbo, it's a perm silver sharpie, I guess we'll see. Lord knows it's gonna get played still.

Nice! Maybe tape some plastic over the signature or something when you play it? Could preserve it a bit longer.

Great pictures -- again!

Very cool signature on the 'O'. Congrats (and envy here)!!

I've seen A.DiM a couple time now (both solo and with RTF)... he is definitely one of the scariest guitarists on the planet.

I'm sure it's not everyday someone shows up with a guitar for him to sign and probably not as nice a guitar when they do?

So many artists refuse to sign anything now (can't really blame them). There are several guys here in town (autograph hunters) that camp out in the hotel lobby of whatever big act is playing here, get the artists to sign as much as they think the person will put up with... Then at the next record con or trade show, they are all there flogging the autographs for all they're worth.

Nice to see Al could spot a fellow player and laid down such a nice sig for him.

Nice signature, but do they really count when they're hidden on the back?

It counts to me, as for the rest I could care less. Al didn't seem to mind either.

"Nice signature, but do they really count when they're hidden on the back?"

It is located where Damon can tilt the guitar forward and see it... Right-side-up Too.

Whenever I see guitars with signatures on the front for sale, I always think...
"Why would I want a guitar with Graffiti on it?"
That one is just a personal reminder. :D

I like it. And I wouldn't worry about it wearing-off neither.

It was a joke. Of course they count! Just a bit harder to show off. Signatures aren't for everybody, but from those individuals who have a special association to a specific model, I think they're very cool. Was it much of a hassle to get the guitar to him?

Oh I knew you were joking.

It was pretty easy. I wasn't going to bother him at first, but the rest of the guys in the band encouraged me, so I did. I talked for him for just a moment and let him know I loved it even better than the last time I saw him on the Kiss My Axe tour.

Afterwards I thought that was kinda bad letting him know it had been 18 years since the last time I went to a show.

BTW, he signed my Friday Night in SF CD too, plus I bought a pre-signed poster for the music room.

It was a really good night.

I used clear nail polish over an autographed baseball in 1972 and it still protected.

Wow, that's pretty cool, Damon!

I'd wish I could have my JL3 signed.

Best regards,
Kurt
