This is an active system powered by an external 9v battery... This battery can be attached to the cable with a velcro strap or stashed inside the rear compartment (which is what I do). Here are some photos... The price? $500 plus Shipping. (I will share some of the shipping costs) Here are a few more photos at the OFC ning... Here are a whole bunch of photos on Photobucket... I will answer any questions and tell you about the "hanging 7th fret"... (the string will hang on it if you pull it down off of the fretboard)

You could probably get up to half of your asking price on EBay just for the case (if it's in good shape.) C. The Viper pups are superb, worth another good chunk of the price by themselves. D. That fret should be pretty easy to fix. Good luck with the sale.

Arthur, if you haven't sold it by Thanksgiving, I'd like to try it out then when I'm in Portland. I would like to sell it soon, but if you were to try it and buy it, I wouldn't have to ship it.

"I will take it apart and stuff all the parts into a corner of my garage where they will never be seen again" DO NOT SELL IT to Steve "Numby"!

Actually I'd keep it in one piece and dink around with the electronics. I could sell an equivalent collection of unfinished parts and come out even. But maybe someone here would enjoy having it. Time is running out! -Steve W.

One of the last times I was down in Portland I met up with Arthur and played it, and foolishly decided to "sleep on it" with the intent to go pick it up the next day. Sadly my trip got cut short and I had to head out of town earlier than expected and never got back to it. Good luck with the sale OMA, if I had the funds she'd be all mine! (Somebody go buy that 1538 would ya!?)
