The ancient Egyptians considered cats to be gods. Cats have never forgotten this ...

Zeek is a great furry friend, as cats go, and Abyssinians are very interactive and intelligent. My last Aby lived nearly 17 years. I decided life was too short to experiment on another breed.

So, Tony, what is the fascination that prompted you to post that?

Paul, if I'd have known you were a cat lover, could have packed the 90 Collector's in cat hair. We have a bluepoint Siamese that is trying to take over my favorite chair. I left the case open when I was cleaning the Folklore this weekend and came back to find it full of cat hair. They do think they're gods.

Cats always look at you and say:
"You feed and take care of me . . . I must be a god!"

Dogs look at you and say:
"You feed and take care of me . . . YOU must be a god!"

My dog says, "God-schmodd, I don't care if you feed me, I'll just go kill a f@ckin' groundhog."

Mark,

I have to keep guitar cases in the shop because if I leave one open while working on or playing a guitar, one or the other cats is likely to get in it and sleep. It's usually Zeek, he always sheds, and seems to find the Ovation bowl shaped cases 'comfy' as he snuggles down saying, "There IS a god!"

I think our cat just sheds to annoy me. In fact, I think he lives to annoy me. This morning he puked on the floor right outside the bedroom. I think he was mad that I was running late and hadn't fed him yet.

Sounds like a cat with control freak issues.

You've been married how long to the same woman? She must not like cats.

Not cats, not dogs, not that keen on guitar players either. She was enquiring last night why when I earned a living at it I only owned one guitar at a time, maximum two, but since I came on this board the house is filling up with non-productive guitars. It was such a reasonable question that I've been scratching my nuts ever since trying to think of a smart comeback. Also the question of why I need to still own a 65 watt amplifier which is taking up space which she could use for something useful like parking her briefcase. Is it any wonder I feel like shooting cats? And she mentioned that when I go to the Tour it would be a good idea if I came back with no more baggage than I leave with. And blaming Jeff will no longer work apparently. Anybody want to buy a 240v amp?

Wait a minute, Schroed. Think this through. Aren't you bringing Jeff's guitar when you come? And you won't be taking that one back with you, right?

You just got the green light.

Schroeder has refused to give the Ute back. Don't tell him this but, when he gets here, there is going to be a whacking...I will then pose as him, use his return ticket to claim the the guitar in question, sleep with his wife and set his kids down the wrong path in life.....

Won't work. You'd never find your way out of Heathrow.

...but go ahead with the first part, anyway. That'll leave more waffles at breakfast for the rest of us.

Dogs have owners;

Cats have staff. :)

I have a neighbor who likes cats. He says they taste a lot like chicken. :D

I enjoy cats, I just haven't owned one in a while.

I don't know why women think that you can't buy a guitar unless you can make money from it. My standard response is that they shouldn't buy a new dress unless they can make money from it. My wife hasn't accepted that challenge yet or I might be looking for some paying gigs.
