The strap attachment on the neck is a ring...a strap with a snap in hook would work but those straps have the hook on both ends (i.e., for banjo). Instead of tying it, best I could come up with is Levy's MM1 (used to hang a guitar on a hook). Used about 5" and attached to the strap with a flathead nut and bolt from my banjo strap. Seems to work fine. Was given a black and a brown MM1, brown is a reasonable match to the Levy's MSS80 straps that I use. Course, not easy to remove the strap.

Any other ideas? Not really interested in something that ties such as the quick release, etc. Just doesn't look good on this guitar.

Any other ideas?

The clasp from a small/medium size dog leash.
Short length of small diameter clear plastic tubing slipped around the shank will minimize metal-to-metal abrading . . . .

How about one of the leather strap clamps that you use around the neck of a guitar. That would help place it far enough away from the bowl that you wouldn't have to worry about a metal clasp scratching anything.

Paul & Fred,
Thanks - only problem is I wanted to avoid the headstock tie-off. What I did is to take part of the MM1 (strap to hang), cut at about 5", loop through the ring, using the existing hole on the MM1 and making a hole on the cut end, attach to the strap with the flathead, decorated nut & bolt from a banjo strap (used to secure the strap around the bracket hook). Looks good and nothing to mar the finish(no pics as upload utility is still a casualty of the migration).

Disadvantage would be if I was transporting it in a case but this one will stay close. If I did need to transport in a case, still only takes a minute or so to unscrew the bolt.

Maybe one of these days will have one made with a swivel hook on one end of a regular guitar strap.

Tony, you don't need to tie the Planet Waves doohickey to the headstock. It can be tied to the ring.

OK . . . I thought Tony was poo-poo'ing the PlanetWaves for "aesthetics" . . .

Temp's right. You can attach the tie-off string to the ring (you don't even have to tie it. just shorten the string, loop it thru the ring and then loop the quic-release thru the loop).

I did it on mine years ago. If y'have any pics from the first TourJam, y'can see it . . .

Works fine.

It was Cliff that first pointed out to me the Slothead marketing campaign: Buy a Slothead and get a FREE c@ck ring. Dave

Will check that out also for the D25K2 and the D15S.

Played a D15 (non-slothead) - amazing the difference in sound. The D15S (slothead) is excellent.

I think using the Martin attachment on your slothead would be SO cool. Almost like wearing a Martin T-shirt to an OFC Tour. Dave

 Should somone bring a 47RI to the OFC Factory tour, said guitar, and it's carrier SHOULD NOT be wearing anything with "MARkeTINg's" logo on it, lest someone be stoned to death out in the parking lot.

I'm sure the local authorities would rule the death an accident, or perhaps natural causes (mineral overdose?) :D :p

Why don't you just sit down and play it like a real guitar player?

Just 'cos it looks like a tomato don't mean you have to play it like a hamateur (rye smile). I'll ketchup wid youse later.
