I sent an email this afternoon to John Bundy relating my difficulties with the Op Pro and within 3 hours at 8.30 my time (has to be pretty early his time) I get this.

Hi Bob,

“That Moody (MWoody my mistake) is a good guy. Best if I send you a new OP-Pro unit
that can be dropped in. Send me your mailing address and I can get
one out to you. Is Extreme Musicals in Australia? It would be
nice if they could help you but they most likely do not have any
spares so best if I send it to you."

Take care,

I clarified it was a US company, give him my address and offered to return the new unit. And five minutes later I get another email.

I will get one out today for you.
Let me know when it shows up, no need to send the other one back.

John

My friends don’t believe my lauding my Ovation and they will find this customer support even harder to believe

PS I felt obliged to post this story, with variations extolling Ovation's, on the Gretsch Pages; as someone else said the good news should be spread!

O Service is, and has always been amazing. It is one of the big things that make us so fanatically loyal. Ovation knows how to do it right, and if it is messed up, they ALWAYS make it right.

Hobie, the formula is simple. I read this on another board: Ovation guitars really suck big time. Terrible quality. Necks breaking, tops cracking, electrionics crapping out. They are just huge pieces of junk. The only thing that doesn't break is the pastic back.

Well, since that must be true, isn't it obvious that the company HAS to have a top notch service department just to stay in business? Makes perfect sense to me.

Curious Tupperware, a luthier friend said much the same thing about the necks and tops warping etc. But Ovation must be run by philanthropists if they have to repair all and sundry!

I am interested to see what they say over at the Gretsch forum, just looked nothing so far.

And then a final email to confirm it has been shipped

John also gave me the lowdown on MWoody, but I am bound by confidentiality

Tom_CA; and I imagine you were equally impressed, curious but now I have an overwhelming desire to bring forward my plans for a 12 string. Dam, it's machiavellian??!!??

While we're trying to figure out Moody & MWoody, let's not forget...his name is Budney, not Bundy or any of the various spellings I've seen. That poor guy!

He got my Country Artist fixed 3600 miles away for free by people I hadn't bought the guitar from.

He has powers that we don't understand. NEVER upset him.

You shouldn't even say his name.

Mr BuDNey's mail arrived yesterday and he had sent the new Op Pro in it's cassette case, and included a new output jack.

Nifty fitting system for the cassette case, and found that doing eh screws up properly meant I lost the tiny bit of slop that had existed.

It is working beautifully and I have been enjoying being able to plug in and blast as well as the convenience of tuning at my whim; These guitars are so versatile. Should hear it on the dirty channel with the gain ramped up.

This is what customer service, or client focus is!

My thanks for your interest and to you Mr Budney.

Now I am looking at the new (I think) 6758T 12 string to match the 1778T OFT. They do this to get us excited I am sure of it.

Now why didn't this jump to the top? Ahh so this is what bumping is. But I hope it is acceptable in this situation, apologies if not.
