I have seen the used stamps on other models but is the first O I've had stamped this way.. I understand that it was to avoid warranty fraud, but didn't think Ovation Stamped them this way. It's a gorgeous and great sounding guitar, and I can't find the flaw that would have made it a 2nd, but couldn't find any problems on the FRGs I've had either. just wondering. Glenn

Ovation's FRG warranty is 5 years. there is supposed to be a label identifying them as FRG... at least I believe that to be the case. I have had two FRG Ovations that were marked properly. Glenn

I'm assuming that these were AAA hand-picked tops like on the custom legends and custom elites. the bracket is about half cured in, and I will be re-stringing it with a set of d'addario lights later this evening after she finishes curing up. I'm pretty sure the glue is set hard enough to mess with the guitar now.. but will wait a few more hours... it does play really nice, low action, and I think it sounds better than the Ivory 1718 that I sold to Thierry.. and that was one of the most articulate/rich sounding guitars I've owned so far.. I'll let you know more on this one later on tonite.. Glenn

I know these are rare on this side of the Pacific.. or is this one that slid out the back door of the factory? or just a High-End limited build Ovation with a USED stamp on the back of the headstock and no sign of a serial #? pm me if you don't want to post it AL or I can call you tomorrow. Thanks, Glenn

I'll have Brett or Howie do a full inspection for things I might not notice.. but it's not important.. Char's back in the hospital, by the time we got to emergency she was in full a-fib and pretty bad distress... she's stabilized now, and getting ready to go back up into the cardiac wing at Holmes. all the kid's have been calling their mother's day messages in, they don't know yet, she doesn't want me to get them wound up, but I have to call them back now.. at least NOW she says she's gonna pay attention and listen to us when we tell her toooo muchhh!! I'll keep you posted guys. just had to come home to get some things and eat something. Glenn

| Joined: November 2004 Posts: 1374 | Thanks Jim and all, just got back from the morning visit.. she has had another(small) heart attack(yesterday's event).. more tests and rest today for her.. she's all worried about missing Shannon's Graduation ceremonies... on Friday... The docs and everyone are telling her that's a long ways from today, and to let them do what they have to. and as the graduation hall is a short distance from the Hospital, if she is still in-patient then, they might let her go to the ceremonies and then check back in. Her first grandchild(my 3rd) is also on the way.. expected delivery mid Sept... and she's fretting about the baby/daughter.. instead of focusing on her recovery. she'll be in the hospital at least through Friday, and the next couple of days are the shaky ones with the possibility of another attack. I'm running on fumes, trying to get rest and can't, trying to eat(not much), and staying positive around her and the kids(as best I can).. gonna try and get a nap in.. then back up to Holmes. Thanks All. Glenn | ||
