My new O will be delivered on Friday.  Pics soon!  Stay tuned!  This will make my 2nd O.  I'm going to try to get my ADHD husband, who hasn't been able to sit still long enough to learn how to use a camera, to take a picture of me holding both of them, like two precious children.  He really does NOT get the whole guitar thing.  He wanted me to teach him and he begged for a guitar.  I bought him a decent $300 Fender solid spruce top acoustic from our local music store (that doesn't carry any Os), gave him one lesson and he never practiced to make it to a second lesson.  I think he needs to stick to what he knows best:  inventorying Harrier jet parts and burning yard debris on a huge burn pile in our back yard. LOL

So are We! Looking forward to the pics.

To some people with short attention spans the concept of practicing chord changes is just too boring.
Teach him Working Class Hero...
It only has two chords... Maybe three if you wanna get fancy.

No disrespect intended to you, Meridith, but if my first guitar had been a Fender acoustic I would've quit too.

Um... er... uh... my first acoustic was a Fender.

Probably why I stuck to the electric until I bought the next one 25 years later, a 1778LX

Sorry, Damon. On whatever level is appropriate.
In 45 years of playing I've never picked up a Fender acoustic that I didn't put down within 30 seconds.

It was a crappy Fender well worth the comment. I did have an F75 with a solid top built in Japan that was half-way decent.

So does that mean you won't be doing any ordering of "Custom" Fender guitars in New Hartford?

Meredith, where are those pictures already!?!

I sure WISH my first acoustic was a Fender. Mine was some no name piece of junk that I had for 5 years before getting something better.

Bob,
When are you going to get out and entertain the greater Sarasota area with your musical prowess and natural good looks not to mention sexy wardrobe?

Hmmm...that one sentence post contained a compliment, some sarcasm, a poke, and a dig. Nice one Brad.

(the answer, my good man, is I'm still working on it)

Tom Dooley with only two chords??  I play that with at least 5 chords.  I guess you could play it with two.  That would be good for a student.

5 chords?? Trying to wrap my feeble mind around what they would be and where they would go. Perhaps I am a student?? Or perhaps merely a vigilante named Grayson??

Well, today is Sat and I was too darn lazy to get dressed, get the camera out, and get those pics done. Maybe tomorrow. I'm a little distracted right now, if you can imagine being distracted from a new O arriving at my doorstep. A little kitty was dumped in my neighborhood two weeks ago and, bless her heart, she's going to have kittens SOON. So, I've adopted her, if only temporarily. I took her to the vet, got her checked, and she's in my guest room, taking it easy. I have other cats in the house and I don't want them bothering her.

I did get my new O out last night and played it until my fingers began to get sore. Darn heavy gauge strings! So, today I got the things together to change the strings to a lighter gauge for my girly callouses. I'll get those strings changed and take a pic, promise!
