Joined: December 2009 Posts: 74 Location: Ireland | General question - Was gigging with a Irish trad band last night. I play with this group regularly. One of the guys plays a bozouki and mandolin which are as everyone knows - round backs. As this was the first gig with them were I brought along my Pacemaker (did I tell you I recently got a beautiful pacemaker from Canterburystrings and did I say how much I love it - anyway) it got me to thinking - does anyone know if Ovation ever considered a wooden roundback for their guitars? A lot of musician snobs turn their noses up at Os because of the perceived inferior 'plastic' round back. We all don't share that view - which is why we are here - but did Ovation ever consider it????

The Wooden Roundback World Tour There was also a wooden roundback produced by an Ovation employee who was an OFC member by the name Luthier444 (I'm not sure if that is his correct name). I'm sure someone here knows and can correct if I'm in error.
