Last night I played a guitar that had been built for the NAMM show 3 years ago. It was a 2080 with a shiney contour bowl (I'm guessing that it's a hand laid bowl as well).

I'm amazed to say this, but it was one of the best sounding Adamii I've ever played. Full, smooth sound. Rich bass and crisp highs.

I had never really played one before and was truly amazed.

Wonderful sound. To all of you who have been smart enough to buy one -- way to go!

I love me some 2080. I sure do wish I was in a position to buy when the OFC II came out.

A 2080 with a boost button... doesn't get much better

That shiney 2080 with the hand laid bowl that is on the Ovation Roadshow is a great sounding and playing guitar. If I hadn't bought an Adamas 2 weeks before, it would be with me now.

Shameless plug ...

The NAMM Shiny Bowl one that Moody mentions is already sold.

But the non-shiny bowl (OFC II) with boost button, 1-3/4 wide neck and carbon fiber case is still available if anyone is interested.

I think the OFC II is the best guitar they have ever built.

It's also locked in the trunk of a rental car that won't open.....

Well Dave, Your OFCII is still on my radar screen. If I could ever come up with some extra cash it would be mine. With that 1 3/4 nutwidth a cannot believe it hasn't been snatched up by someone yet. The good thing about it is you still get to play it until it goes.

That one's MINE! Mine, I tell you!

I picked up one of my 2080's last night (I have two 2080's and an OFC II) and fell in love again. What a gorgeous sound! It compares favorably with the OFC II and is so pure and ringing and full and rich. It projects hugely, and plays beautifully at any volume.

It's funny -- my first 2080 was one of my very first guitars. I've picked up some 15-20 more guitars since then -- mostly Ovations, but I could've stopped at the first 2080 and been pretty much ok. And that's with the understanding that I have an OFC II as well!

I have only one more itch...I want Gallerinski's wide-neck 2080. For me that would be the ultimate guitar. The glorious playability of the FD-14 (one of my OTHER favorites!) and the drop-dead gorgeous sound of the 2080.

Not sure why Ovation does not offer a regular 2080 with wide neck option. Seems to be a frequent request, and it's not like somebody has to actually carve a wide neck. Just press the right button the cnc machine and BINGO.

Mebbe 'cause far more people say they want one than will actually pony up the cash for one?

Yeah, it's me, but it's on a bad day, and like 30 pounds ago, with no warm-up, and I left some dangfool fan on in the background, and the recording equipment is bad, and the sun got in my eyes, and I had a rock in my shoe, and the dog ate my homework, and I was just experimenting. It's my very first YouTube video ever, and I had no idea how to produce one or what to do...I just knew I had to at LEAST make one!

Sooooo...bottom line: apologies for the crappy quality of the video and the playing -- it does NOT show the 2080 at its best, and that is NOT the 2080's fault!
