I won't go through the indignity of posting a lot of pics and links just to take a rash of abuse from my fellow members ("Get that piece of crap off our board.."). YOU now what it is and most of you know how good it is, you just won't say it around here...

Martin 000-18.
One year old, I am the original owner.
New, mint, factory fresh condition.
It's freaking perfect, not a scratch.
original black pickguard replaced with tortoise shell one. Plays and sounds wonderful.
Full specs on Martin web site.
Includes original hard case in perfect condition.
Email for more photos or details.
$1250. plus shipping.

Dave

Great guitar at a very reasonable asking price. Would go for it except I just dumped my last few spare doneros ($'s)into a new Les Paul. Whomever gets it will get a good bargain. Play on!

Why I owned it, or why I'm selling it?

Why I owned it is simple: It's a great comfortable size, really nice neck, plays great and has that warm woody sound.

Why I'm selling it is a bit more complicated: I love the 000-18, but I'm lusting after something else (Martin) that's pretty pricey. I haven't found it, but I've got to be ready with cash in the cookie jar when I do. That's the only problem with Martins, tough to aquire without selling off something else for obvious financial reasons.

I know what you mean about ready cash.

I would probably be inclined to grab it if I wasn't kinda on the lookout for a Martin HD-28VS at a price I can afford....but it doesn't matter if the cash isn't in hand.

I wouldn't be inclined to buy it, because it doesn't have the classic resin round back. All those wood boxes do is make me uncomfortable.

Or maybe it's all the dough I've sunk into this 'little' amp project. ;)

Gotta say, StandingO, you're killing me...I want a steel string and you've got a wonderful price on that but I really, REALLY want to stay a couple below that (and too much below that to try to guilt you into an truly insane price and, besides that, there is really little wrong with trying to get a fair price, is there?)...my best to the one who steals that from you. Maybe in a couple of years I can steal it from him.

I have to say, that is a very nice looking guitar. The tort pickguard looks much more elegant and finished than the stock black ones do. Good luck with the sale.

ps - so whatchagettin?

Dave,
I recently shipped a guitar 2nd Day via UPS. It cost almost $100. (packed in hsc and inside Ovation cardboard carton with insurance)

I see you are charging $40 for 2nd day FED EX.

Does the price actually differ that much??

Jeff - depending on exact location within the US, 2 day FedEx costs me $50-$60 dollars. People have a mental block about paying that much, so I suck it up and charge $40 flat rate.

Mr. A - I love the 000 size body and mahog. Really sounds nice. It's not a "boomer" like the D's, but very balanced. I'll be getting another 000 in the future.

i like 000 body too. u should try a "real" martin with rosewood side & back. 00028 is good. u can get one for around $1200 on ebay.

of course, om28v would be better.

The shopping cart is not the problem. It's the check out that always stops me. Dave
