The answer in the auction is in response to my inquiry/question. I guessed 1613 off the top of my head. I checked the O site and I'm pretty sure it is a 1713.

It looks like a pretty nice piece. I wonder if he'll get his opening bid especially w/o a case.

I remember those when they first came out. The widest nut available. Played a few, quite a vibrant instrument...

I own a 1713...that IS a 1713. These are CANNONS! No whimpy "plucketty" sounding classical..but beware, it's no cross-over skinny necked thing either...she's a monster that will "stretch" you...but well worth every tendon poppin chord!

Very glad I have one! Absoultely a soulful experience to sit along with my 1713 next to the fireplace on a winter's eve and just get lost in it!

I tell you, nothing better than improvising Christmas Carols on a 1713...I'm not a classical prodigy or anything, but man you can really feel like one with one of these in your hands. I play my 1713 almost exclusively from Thanksgiving thru the New Year when I need/have quiet time to create/reflect. Everyone should own a quality classical...of course the danger is you may go nylon and never look back.......of course until my 1117 starts acallin me back around the first of February.

Norse(my 12 strings have been feeling a little neglected as of late...but they will become "flavor of the month" soon enough...ah variety...the spice of life!)man1

If anyone is interested in this guitar I can contact the seller and personally inspect this instrument (get serial number, etc.) since I live in Fort Collins.

I WISH!.... I have a friend with a cedar-top classical. When I'm visiting I can't put it down...have to try my hand at abreviated versions of 'malaguena' and 'classical gas'... I would probably settle for an 1863 Legend if I could afford one...

I think it's a 1713, too. Looks just like mine, except for the label. I agree with Randy. They really boom, but have a little more mellow sound of the cedar top. I use the Country Artist to play Classical Gas, but I played it a couple times last night on the 1713.
If you can get it for his opening bid, it would be a good deal. I paid almost that much for mine a couple years ago and can't remember seeing one go for under $400 since.

Thanks for the offer Todd. This is the guy Noah got the Viper 12 from. Local inspection might not be a bad idea, just because of the weird label. Even as an FRG this is a good deal on a 1713 IMHO. I love my 1763. I keep saying I'm gonna put JP Thomastics back on it, but I just love the way it sounds/plays with the Savarez 520P1's.

Hmmmm, let's see. $395 opening bid...$75 to ship....$35 to pack....goofy gig bag.

I doubt if this will go far.

One opinion. Nice guitar though.

Well, my offer still stands if anyone at least wants a more accurate assessment of the condition of the guitar. Yes, the 1868 Elite sticker is confusing, but this does appear to be a 1713. I wonder if I could convince the seller to peel back the label just a bit to see if there is another label inside the bowl that was covered up by mistake.

I do remember the Viper that this person sold a few weeks back, too. He also had a Trace Elliot amp that sold about a week ago.

Let me know guys. I'm up for trying to set something up and inspect this thing if someone is truly interested.

We've seen mis-labeled guitars before.

As Aric says in the auction, the guitars are from the stash of a collector who has a passion for interesting or one-of-a-kind pieces. An Elite 1868 label inside a 1713 does make it a little unique.

After reading the auction's revised description, it appears that you guys are giving Aric the help he needs to sort things out. He really appreciates the help.

Aric is a musician, producer and a synth-junkie. They are reorganizing the studios at one of their facilities and Aric (as he has free time) is slowly putting some of the excess gear on ebay.

As far as the shipping goes...
I think, 'actual shipping plus packaging...', is an FYI of how they intend it to be. It appeared to me that the ebay Shipping Calculator in the auction was already configured for the packaging, but just not working 100%. I did not end up paying $35 on top of what the Shipping Calculator said. The EA58 via USPS Priority was about the same as what the Shipping Calculator computed for UPS Ground. It was professionally packed and insured and it arrived without a hitch.

I've been sending info to Aric to help him out too.

I just looked at the pictures a little closer, and it looks like there might be a slight fingerboard separation, or finish crack along the neck just above the rosette.

A local inspection might be the way to go.

Norsey, Always glad to hear that you're loving your 1713 !

Ernie

I re-read my last couple of comments on this auction and I'm sounding like the price police.

Not my intent. Sorry about that.

I guess it is a bad case of classical gas!
