Location: Michigan | Looks nice although I think he has the age wrong based on the brown case and metal tag. I could be wrong...have been before. This one should be in the OFC family. They don't come up too often.

However it looks a pretty nice guitar ... unfortunately no funds for that one right one :( as my MS refreshed deluxe balladeer is currently into italian custom :) |

Probably you remember my deluxe balladeer serial 345 made in 1967 that I got from Al in 2007. Ok, beginning of this year I sent her to MS for a spa treatment. Mainly a neck reset and a general cleanning of both top and bowl to remove as much as scretches and dings.
JB from MS says it looks like new and I believe him.
At the moment the guitar is still into custom but ready for the last part of the trip. Can't wait to see how it looks and play. I guess MS work out its magic again.
Of course I will open a tread and post pics of the "before and after" thing. ;) |

Location: South of most, North of few | Can't wait to see it. I always loved my 1614, then sent it to the factory for a re fret and it got damaged in shipping. Wish I had that one back. Now it's a lamp, and before that a salad bowl.... I hope this one is as good.

Location: SoCal | I hadn't looked at this thread before. Looks like T.J. got a really good deal. That's an early 70's Folklore (foil label and severe headstock angle), probably a '72-'75. Ought to sound big and full.
Give us a full report when it comes in (but start a new thread with smaller photos --- when the pics are so big, I have to scroll back and forth to read the thread)..... |

Location: Michigan | I wonder what mojo the folks at Ovation used to make the 1614 sound so danged good plugged in? I can't make my legend sound like it no matter how much fiddling around I do with the preamp. Let us know if it is as nice at it looked in the ad.

Location: South of most, North of few | The last one I had was one of the best sounding guitars I had ever played acoustically. I hope this one arrives without damage as it was shipped USPS Priority. I was kind of thinking this was a '73 to '74ish model, but I'll check it when I see the serial number. I'll start another thread in the general section when it gets here. |
