Friend of mine used to change any song into reggae: change the major chord to a minor (it's minor, not the relative minor), emphasise the upbeats on the strum, and repeatedly say "Bob Marley says" at every opportunity.

Last we looked, Al (alpep or LostArtVintage) had possibly the last new reissue 1687 in blue. Tony Calman had a red one for sale. I'm not sure of the number for the color that Marley played.

That would be a -7 or beige

Could just be the light and photo color, but Marley's is distinctive.

Yep, -7, the nicest color an Adamas could get.

Marley's guitar seems to have a darker center color - like Jerome choosed for his custom:

Both these customs were ordered through alpep. Ask him for your special Marley guitar.

Best regards,
Kurt

I would think the HS is pre-sock inspired.

Jack,

Don't know whether you're on it or not, but there is an early one on eBay right now that is the same color and very close to the same vintage ... looks to be a near twin. Check it out here: Adamas 1689-7 on eBay . I'm not sure if Marley played the standard (1 11/16") neck or the wide (1 3/4") neck. This one is a wide. It won't be cheap but it will be authentic. If this one is not in the cards, then a 30th anniversary from AlPep/LostArtVintage is the way to go.

Sorry to write it North, but you are right. You never should have sold it. Rasjack, you should jump on that one on Ebay. She's a BEAUTY! Very tempting for me as well, but my GAS fund is currently depleted ... I hope one of this gang gets her, if anyone does. Jerome's custom built is very lovely. I just think all the Adamas blues are incredibly beautiful ... and the red ones ... and the custom colored ones ...
and ... and ...

:(

AHH anyway if anybody finds out the exact model I would love to know. Just being a huge marley and gutiar fan this one to me is his coolest one he every played on stage. I wonder If he got it for free from Ovation or just bought it at a store. Any info would be grand thank you soo Much your community here is very positive and knowing. Thanks...

You are looking for a 1687-7 model Adamas 1.
If you want it exact you'll need to find vintage as the -7 is the color number....the early -7 was called Beige and the outside ring was beige with a dusty blue core...the new and improved -7 color is a white ring around the outside and a blue core. You can order the early #7 color form the factory and they are very good but it's just not the same. You'll see this variance in alot of the previous photo's, it's all personal preference but I love the Mojo and feel and sounds fom the old non cutaway Adamas 1's. I unfortunateyl needed the cutawy to perform the music Im doing. I'll buy one of these old ones again someday I am quite sure. Perhaps one of the Holy Grail models, if I can find one.

There is a 1687-8 for sale brand new with the newest electronics right here in the for sale section for $1,700. the #8 color is blue on blue...very pretty.... Some of the vintage ones that used to sell for around $2,500 every day are going for nearly half that now on ebay. It's a buyers market right now.
Enjoy,
Do Bob proud.... jam d reggae...maaan

I prefer the color term "Bluege" myself.
