Not Mine... But I wish it was!

I think that this is an OFC'r guitar... But I ain't sure.
But I thought it was worth sharing.

Don't think I've ever seen this one before. Intersting guitar. From the headstock and truss rod cover, it looks like it came from the time of the 47's and OFC 1's. The truss rod cover looks like an LX. But the preamp pre-dates that time.

Who knows....

I find it hard to conceive that, acoustically, a shallow bowl would work well with nylon, regardless of what top sits on it.

It's a guitar meant to be plugged in. I've played the original nylon string Adamas (built in 1981 for Glen Campbell), and it's sound unplugged is ok but not great....

Paul's right. I ordered 2 SSB classics in the 80's. Excellent performance guitars. Kinda wimpy otherwise... although, very comfie couch players.

It's a 2003 1887-X SSB Adamas Classical. Our friend Joel from France asked me to snag this one for him: it shipped here for a set up and will continue on to him. It is a very cool guitar and plays wonderfully. For all the SSB naysayers out there (ya gotta try one for yourselves), the sound is surprising: acoustically, somewhat subdued: good but nothing to write home about...BUT: plugged in it's a monster...huge bass, smooth mid-range, and very clear (almost dangerous) treble. The Optima Preamp makes it a ton of fun to experiment with notch or no notch; EQ or not; and four band EQ to shape the sound any way you want. The graphite top really accentuates the tone plugged in...I wish it were staying here...but, off to France it goes. A very nice guitar and I am glad I had a chance to play it. If you have to have Nylon, this would be the the way to go!
