Today my new Ovation arrived...CS247 in Honey Burst...I love it. After six years with a classical Yamaha and a six inch wide fretboard (well, not really!)
I disliked the Yammie and I only played or practiced after a few beers...

...needless to say didn"t learn much or play much!! Some 15 years ago I saw and held an Ovation for the one and only time. I thought " I"m getting one of these "
Well, I"m 60 now and have more time and patience. Have set aside a "Guitar room" (my wife has her "Doll and teddy room".)
Getting a acoustic amp (50w) on Saturday (Yorkville AM50) bought a DVD player and the second TV went into my "Guitar room". Also got a silent guitar so if I get the urge to play at 2am won:t disturb the neighbourhood.Have a couple of video DVD courses and..........MY FINGERS HURT!!!http://www.ovationfanclub.com/cgi-bin/ubb/non-cgi/icons/icon10.gif

Not that uncommon. I understand Dave and Jeff have "Doll and Teddy" rooms as well as guitar rooms...

Welcome to the club! If Fosters is how to spell beer, Ovation is how to spell guitar.

Welcome, Dave. I have a Standard Elite LX in New England Burst and a Yorkville AM100. They are waiting for me right now in my guitar/video/audio/study/studio (Spare bedroom with my junk in it!)

Hey, I googled your CS247 and the first site I came up with was World Guitars in Queensland!

Gooday, Mate! Hope to visit Australia some day.

Welcome to a weird group. Check out the photo galleries in the member access section to give you some ideas of other guitar rooms. Mine was progressing nicely until my wife decided to move her aerobics tape collection down there and turn it into an exercise room. Nice pictures on the tapes, though.

I wish I could think of things like that to say.

Welcome to the club.

After being here a while, you're going to want more guitars. Time to start a room addition. :D

Welcome.

If your fingers hurt you're well on your way. Keep playing 'till you come out the other end of the hurt. (Not all at one go, but there are many stories of playing with bloody hands....)

No worries. Your fingertips will soon be as calloused as a politicians conscience, leathery as a sailcat in august, and almost as insensitive as strine wit. ;)
