It started life as a red 1869 Shallow Custom Legend with a crack and a severed ear. In July of 2011 Mother transformed it into what is basically a wood-topped Adamas, complete with AST and a new Op Pro Studio. Matte finish on top and neck, CL neck has new black binding. Gold tuner buttons replaced with ebony to complete the look. Plays and sounds like nothing else. Case and Dan Savage black saddle included (you can install the saddle). Located just north of Boston and local buyers are strongly encouraged. Pics available via email unless I can get them to post. $2000 plus shipping.

It's referred to as sinker redwood because it old-growth wood that was harvested back when they used to float the logs down the river as a way of transport. Some of these logs sank to the bottom and were covered with mud for long periods of time. The minerals in the mud cause the unique colors. I purchased the top from luthierscooltools.com and sent it with the guitar to Mother in New Hartford. You can read more about sinker redwood from this supplier/luthier at http://www.michelettiguitars.com/Salvaged_Wood.htm. Edited by Carol 2019-03-07 6:16 AM
