...to re-string.

What a chore! What was I thinking? (But it does look REALLY cool...)

WHERE is that picture that shows how to do it properly? I've never had a problem with slippage on a normal headstock. I couldn't get the top E to go any higher than about C# before it would slip back to about Bb.

I gave up and got the local guitar shop to re-do the e and B. Tight now, but I'd like to know how to do it myself.

Anyone remember where 'that picture' is. You'd remember it. Its about the size of 2 football fields.

Danke, Meuti.

I'm SURE I did it like that...

I just put some Elixirs on it, so I won't be restringing it for a month or 2. I'll print it out and put it in my cheat book so I know where it is.

Bitte sehr, Muzza ;)

Did you cut the strings before tuning? If they are too long it's harder to hold the tension.

No I didn't. But that sounds like a very good idea for next time.

Muzz, also try not to have too many windings on the post. Pull most of the slack through so you need only turn the post two or three times to get up to pitch.

How do you know when a Qantas jet has landed?

The engines go silent but the whining continues.

Credit where its due - the joke is originally Australian and was about the England cricket team landing in Oz.

Was just too easy an opportunity to let go by.
And he still owes me a lunch.

It's still here waiting for you. You've just got to climb into one of those winey things and fly over here to claim it.

Getting a bit stale now though.

Both your lunch AND that joke.

And AJ - I'll bet I know EXACTLY what you wrote, you cheeky bastard.
