Henely and Frey used exclusively Taks (multiple Dreads for Frey 6 & 12s and a 12 fret cutaway for Henely) Joe Walsh was outstnading and the crowd favorite with several of his solo hits. 3.5 hours of non-stop rock and roll. I would highly recommend this to anyone who like any of these guys music or the band's music! I read that they brought 100 guitars to the show and I wouldn't doubt it. I saw one of every type I could name and several I couldn't. I saw every Gibson and Fender electric models ever made I think. But Joe Walsh could probably make a broom stick with a fishing line sound awsome.

The seats I had were off to the right of the stage & pretty high up. Not "primo" concert tickets, but it pretty much allowed you to "partake" relatively unencumbered. This vantage point allowed me to see the area BEHIND the drum riser and the "backline" of amps. This was pretty much just a big, open area where (with a pair of binoculars) I counted FIFTY-THREE guitars (electrics, acoustics, basses & doublenecks) all on stands. Each guy had a GuitarTech that pretty much rotated EACH and EVERY guitar onto the stage over the course of the performance . . . A while ago (when I was setting up for a gig), some drunk asked me why a solo gig required setting-up FOUR guitars . . . I told him "what's the SENSE of having "toys" if y'don't take 'em out & PLAY with 'em??" (btw; with the prices the Eagles're "banging" people for concert tickets, the show BETTER be three-and-a-half hours . . .)

About 5 rows up from the floor on the left side, about even with the stage. Great show from one of my favorite bands. I don't know if I'd have paid the $50+ ticket price, even though it was billed as their last tour. At least they don't bill this one as a world tour, since they aren't going very far west.

The Cow Palace in SF. In the Summer of '77 (best Summer of MyLife) '77 was a great year though. The Snake, the Ghost, and crew kicked Fran Tarkenton's rear all over the field in the Superbowl. Fred Biletnikoff was the MVP. As for the EAGLES, we beat them in the '81 Superbowl. OH! Sorry, the EAGLES, OK, now I get it. Please disregard all comments.

The 4-pc. that Rick & I used t'be in, had a bass player who was TOTALLY AnalRetentive out his gear. Instead of a pedal board, he carried around SIX individual Boss StompBoxes (each one in it's original box) that he carried in a seperate GigBag. He would unbox EACH one, set 'em up in order on the floor, daisy-chain 'em together with the little cables, twiddle the knobs, etc., etc. . .(whay a bass-player needs SIX pedals, STILL mystifies me). At the end of the night, he would reverse the procedure & pack 'em all neatly away in their cute, little individual boxes. (Mind You, . . . all the while he's DOING this, . . everybody ELSE is humping in/out the PA, speakers, drums, amps, stands, etc. . . . This Guy ONLY handled his OwnStuff . . . drove me f@ckin'NUTS!!) OneNight (towards the end of my stint) this guy, who was totally HAMMERED staggers up & offers to help me "p-p-p-p-Pack-Up" . . . I told him "I'm Fine, Thanks . . . . . . but maybe the bass player could use a hand . . " Without blinking an eye, this guy looks around & picks up a stomp-box. Naturally, all SIX boxes followed suit. The guy walks up to the bar, with his hand up over his head, carrying the "chain" like a prize salmon, and asks the bass-player (who's having a drink), "w-w-w-Where d' y'Want THIS??" I thought he was gonna have a fookin' STROKE!!!

These are the times life is worth living. Maybe I should have kept the money and bought 10 shares of Home Depot or a stomp box or a new set of string tubes. But personally, it was priceless to enjoy this memory with my family. I could have stayed all night. The collections of songs as a group plus as individuals is mind blowing (if you like that sort of music) and I love it. Reminds me of the Rolling Stones song "I know it's only rock and roll, but I like it"Three and a half hours?? I don't think I like anybody THAT much.
