Is there a special tool or trick for adjusting the truss rod? Seems none of the wrenches I have can turn the nut far enough to be able to re-insert the wrench to turn farther. The handles are too long and get hung up on the cavity so that I can't get more than about an eighth of a turn. Anyone else run into this?

No help here. Haven't had to adjust the neck on any of mine.

I use a miniature socket wrench with an allen bit.

Try a ball-end Allen key.

Thanks. I tried earlier to find a miniature socket solution but my local hardware didn't have the right combination. Didn't think about a ball end. Either way, a trip to another hardware store in on.

The Cruz guitar multi-tool might work

Bob, coincidently, I had to make a slight adjustment on my EA58 (12 string) neck this weekend. I went through my gig bag tools and found an allen wrench with both ends bent 90 degrees, one of which was offset by 45 degrees from the other. The tool works just like an offset open end wrench. By alternating ends, the allen wrench works in the limited neck cavity space. This may very well be the tool that comes from the factory with the EA58/63/68 models.

Thanks. I did not get the factory tool with my guitar. I'll contact the factory and see if they still have any of them.

Well, if any of you out there have a line on an extra snakey looking hex key for a Viper, let me know. ;) Thanks.

No luck at the Factory, bobbo?
Going to be in our neighborhood (or close) any time soon... or I'm driving up to Rivera in Burbank some time next week.

Still waiting to hear from back from the factory ... they didn't find one right away but were still checking all the little cubbys and crevices. So I'm onto Plan C now. No worries. Not planning on being in SoCal anytime soon, Noah. But I do like the stuff Paul Rivera does ... you visiting with them?

Yep, the amp is going back home for some upgrades that I will never get to otherwise. It will be mon, wed, or fri. I've never been there and as much as I'd like to, do they let mere mortals visit? I just pictured going up to a counter and walking away with a drop-off ticket. You can also email your address and I can priority mail one to you.

Nice rig, Bruce. Thanks for the offer, too.

Has anyone around here lately said just how great Ovation customer service is? They found a wrench and got it to me. Awesome.
