OK ... I know ... I said I would never sell her, but one has to go, and I decided to keep the cedar top Elite. After LOTS of thought I realized that this is the one I play the least, since I do a lot of upper-fret work I need the cutaways. I've had this since I bought it from the original owner in 1987. It was my first Ovation and it has a lot of sentimental value. BUT I've decided that I cannot afford to keep a guitar primarily for its collectable and sentimental value. I'm going to hold it here for a week and then send it to Ebay. I'm asking $800 + Shipping from MI 49663. The only issue other than a couple minor finish cracks is the tip of the headstock was broken off and professionally re-glued. Hardly noticeable from the front, and doesn't effect anything other than a place in my heart. Pics are posted in the gallery.

That's a great price for a terrific guitar.

SHouldn't have trouble moving it and hopefully someone here will grab it so it can stay in the family.

How about $50 a month and you hold delivery until our living room has furniture and I survive the arrival of my next guitar???

Maybe post some pictures to whet some appetites!

If you sell it, nightmares will soon ensue. Trust me.

I've thought about selling my 1537. It doesn't get played as much as it should. But even the thought of selling it gives me nightmares...... My 87C has more bling, a cutaway, and a more modern preamp. It would go before the 1537.

Is it me, or does there seem to be a rash of 1537's all of a sudden available. Sunburst ones, black ones, etc. Funny how this stuff seems to go in cycles. Would seem to be a great time for anyone interested in picking up one of Ovations BEST wood topped guitars.

Pretty amazing phenomenon isn't it? I think we've seen this quite a few times before with these and other models. Sometimes a run of Adamas guitars, sometimes Elites. It's my guess that as we approach tax time, people are unloading items they regularly wouldn't, to come up with cash.

Hi everyone.

Due to an unforseen and enormous auto repair bill in the thousands$, I had to back out of my deal with gh1 for his beautiful, black 1537. He was very understanding and allowed me out of our agreement graciously.

So now if you're in the market for a 1537, you have a choice of natural (bvince), sunburst (ebay) or black (gh1).

Wow! If only we could have these kind of choices at our local guitar shops! (:

Hey Grif,

How far are you from Windsor Ontario? I was thinking about going there this year to get Lasik Surgery.

"The smart thing wouldbe to buy all three!" ...

It would be nice to see all three stay in the OFC family.

Hi Vince.

I'm about a 15 hour drive from Windsor. I'm in Thunder Bay at the top of Lake Superior. Only a 3 hour drive to Duluth though.

Good luck with the Lasik surgery, my sister had it done and threw her glasses away 20/20 after a lifetime of wearing glasses and contacts. :) :D
