Built in 1988, this guitar is as stunning as you could ask it to be with the added benefit that it sounds exactly like you would expect. Admittedly the shallow bowl lacks some volume, but the tone is very nice; well balanced with strong midrange. Plug it in and of course, it being an Ovation, it’s a monster. This is one of the best stage guitars on the planet…PERIOD! Here are Ovations specs: the top is AAA Solid Sitka Spruce with Hand Inlaid Abalone around the whole edge! A couple of technical details include Ovation A bracing, a scale length of 25 ¼”, and a nutwidth of 1 11/16”. The fretboard is bound ebony and the CARVED bridge is ebony as well. The fretboard is also loaded with abalone inlays as is the rosette. The pre-amp is the venerable OP-24. (Great sound!) and the tuning machines are 24K Gold Schallers with pearloid buttons. The guitar does show minor wear after 20 years of use. It has some pick-scratching that a good buffing will improve considerably. Some VERY minor scratching on the headstock. And the action is a smidge high for my liking, but still very playable. The neck looks straight to me and the binding is fine. I mention the action because I’ve removed the one shim that it had, so it may need a little truss rod tweak. But again, it plays fine, and I wouldn’t mess with it if I were going to keep it. Finally, the cowboy frets show some wear, but they’ve got some good life left in them. It's got new D'Addario lights on it, and it comes with its original hardshell case, which is in astoundingly good condition! It closes tightly and all hinges and latches are fine. I’m asking $695 OBO shipped in the continental U.S. International folks need to check for a shipping price first. Again, this is a top-of-the-line, professional instrument. It looks fantastic and sounds the same. The shallow bowl makes it extremely comfortable to play. In other words, it’s easily worth more than what I’m asking. So let me know what you think. I look forward to hearing from you.

It has been played but but not worn out, still feels and sounds real good and the inlays are gorgeous. A great deal from a Good Guy (recent satisfied buyer of Pat's '97 Collector's)

I'll deduct $65 from the shipping cost to your country. (That's what I charge for domestic shipping and handling on eBay.) You just pay the difference in shipping. Anyone here want to save me an auction fee? ;)

I truly thought it would bid up to about $500 in a hurry, and then spike like they always do in the last 2 minutes. I'm really surprised at no bids. Though I've already had the ever-present "What will it cost to ship overseas?" question.

I also play around with non-guitar stuff on the Bay and it's not selling either. At least not like a year ago. Pretty guitar, tho. I hope it sells for a bunch.
