Have any of you had any problems with someone else posting your name or stuff in a "for Sale" area?

Here's part of a recent email conversation I just had:

What are you making reference to?

One and a half years ago someone placed my name on an internet "Sale".
I think Harmony. It was a hoax.

REsponse:

Sorry to hear that. They are still spoofing posts under your name then. I emailed you cuz there was a new post at harmony central for a guitar.

There are 3 recent posts under your name in the harmony central used gear postings.

I have contacted them to see what they can do, especially removing the ads.

I hope this doesn't blow the deal I have with the Witness Protection Program.

Hey Cruster, Slipkid - were you guy's going to be at the reunion again this year?

Nah - he only watches. Interestingly, my ex-ladyfriend used to call my old room at Mum's "Room 101" (in jest, I think) as that's where all my guitars are (still) living. She got jealous of them, so teased me that they her worst fear.

Mind you, she did listen to me play and sing, so it may have had a grain of truth...

Well...yeah...I will be there and from what I understand Cruster will make it this year also. But Woody....I'm curious as to what brought that question suddenly to mind in a thread about internet frauds, Witness Protection, Martin Fans, and Republicans??? I am one of those four examples but your train of thought kind of creeps me out a bit.

"but your train of thought kind of creeps me out a bit"
It was in line with the "Witness Protection Program Annual Reunion" thing. It makes a better T-shirt than a late night post. My stay focused button was in "off".

I thought it was funny about the UMG Fanclub discussing our posts and the timing was right. Being an Abstract-Sequencial thinker can have its down side.
The idea of someone posting my info is creeping me out more than I thought.

Sorry

Nah, he covered that with items #5 and #6. ;)

Woody-

Cruster has every intention of going. With Mrs. Cruster being in the family way, however, I'm going to have to arrange 'coverage.' She's dangerously close to permanent bed rest, per yesterday's appointment. Which is a bite, as she just ended two straight weeks of bed rest last Friday.

10 OFC Calendars? You know you've got a good idea when scammers go selling non-existing copies of your product. If anyone needs to get to the bottom of this, it's Slippy.

The Harmony Webmeister pulled the ads but couldn't tell me who posted them. He did say he would restrict that user, which means they just go to Yahoo and make up another name or email address.

I saw those ads and found them odd, but now I know why. What is creepy to me is that the source is probably from this board.

I've never been to that website before. I can't tell if there is an ad for calenders or not.
A little photoshop thing can be fun but this kind of stuff is downright malicious.

I saw them because I buy and sell items there, and I read the ads every day. My initial response to the post was, "Cool; Mike found Harmony Central." But the prose and the content just seemed odd.

Sorry, Mike, that I didn't contact you and check it out.
